Major Administration Figure Resigns After Reports of 'Bullying'
While the Democrats certainly did their darnedest to present Joe Biden as a kindler, gentler President than Donald Trump, (and a return to the ho-hum status quo of the “Old DC”), his administration has been anything but.
Most prominently, there have been a number of major departures from the Executive Branch since he and Vice President Kamala Harris took office just over a year ago. A great many of these have come from the East Wing, where it has been said that the aforementioned Harris has been bullying staff and manifesting a hostile work environment.
But this week, it was one of Biden’s top science advisers that is said to be the bully.
President Joe Biden’s top science adviser, Eric Lander, resigned on Monday evening following reports of his bullying and mistreatment of subordinates.
The resignation came despite initial insistence from the White House that Lander would remain in his post while corrective actions and remediations were applied to assure a better workplace environment at the Office of Science and Technology Policy.
“It has been a great honor to serve as your Science Advisor and to work with the extraordinarily talented career and non-career colleagues at the Office of Science and Technology Policy,” Lander wrote in a letter to the president. “I am writing to submit my resignation, to be effective no later than February 18 in order to permit an orderly transfer.”
Lander addressed his behavior in the statement.
“I am devastated that I caused hurt to past and present colleagues by the way in which I have spoken to them,” he added.
This latest White House horror show belies a deep depravity within the administration itself, and continues to stoke fears of instability on Pennsylvania Ave.
