Major Greenland Glacier Growing Again After Previous Shrinking

Isn’t it amusing that everything they see that goes against their narrative is proof that… their narrative is still right?

A key glacier in Greenland is growing again after shrinking for several years, according to NASA.

“The Jakobshavn (YA-cob-shawv-en) glacier around 2012 was retreating about 1.8 miles (3 kilometers) and thinning nearly 130 feet (almost 40 meters) annually,” the Associated Press reported. “But it started growing again at about the same rate in the past two years, according to a study in Monday’s Nature Geoscience. Study authors and outside scientists think this is temporary.”

“That was kind of a surprise. We kind of got used to a runaway system,” said Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland ice and climate scientist Jason Box, the AP noted. “The good news is that it’s a reminder that it’s not necessarily going that fast. But it is going.”

Box added, “arguably the most important Greenland glacier because it discharges the most ice in the northern hemisphere. For all of Greenland, it is king.”

Scientists say that the cooling in the North Atlantic waters caused the glacier to begin growing again.

“The water in Disko Bay, where Jakobshavn hits the ocean, is about 3.6 degrees cooler (2 degrees Celsius) than a few years ago, study authors said,” the AP added.

Naturally, all these scientists rushed to note that this “may” only be temporary, and that global warming will “likely” resume soon.

University of Washington ice scientist Ian Joughin insisted that global warming will resume soon enough, adding, “to a large extent, a temporary blip. Downturns do occur in the stock market, but overall the long-term trajectory is up. This is really the same thing.”

Of course.

In generations past people assumed that a drought was proof the gods didn’t like them. Now the same sort of people are bowing at the feet of the gods of global warming.

The truth is, they haven’t a clue why any of this happens. It just happens because weather changes.

But, isn’t it amusing that everything they see that goes against their narrative is proof that… their narrative is still right?

It is far more proof that global warming is a religion, as opposed to science. Everything is “proof” of global warming.

Absolutely everything.

Dozens Of Cops Quit The Force As Seattle Council ‘Defunds Police’

Published

on

The Seattle City Council voted on Monday to cut the Seattle Police Department’s budget, as many cops leave the force as a result of all the hostilities pointed at them from local leadership. The city council held a vote to defund the police, which was passed 8-1. This measure will slash the budget by 18 percent. Granted, radical activists wanted to see the budget cut by 50 percent, but this is still a devastating number. via Daily Wire: Such a move will leave many vacant jobs on the force unfilled and require 911 dispatchers and parking enforcement to be moved outside of SPD jurisdiction. As of Oct. 31, 134 officers have left the force, according to the mayor’s office. In October alone, 23 have thrown in the towel. Democratic Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan expressed her support for the budget, saying in a statement, “I applaud the City Council for taking a more deliberate and measured approach to the 2021 Seattle Police Department budget than occurred this summer which led to the resignation of former SPD Chief Carmen Best.” Nikkita Oliver, a radical Black Lives Matter activist who played a leadership role in city’s short-lived Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (or CHAZ) last summer, said during a virtual meeting after the vote: These are all really exciting things that have been won after many, many years of mobilizing and partnering together. They’ve been won because of the uprising and defense of Black lives, and the many people who put their feet to the ground, who have made calls, sent emails, and organized their communities. The president of the Seattle Police Officers Guild, Mike Solan, wasn’t quite as excited about the vote, referring to the council as “naive” and warned that the response to calls coming in to 911 would take longer to…

New Poll Says Trump Will Retain Power Over Republican Party

Published

on

According to a brand new poll, President Donald Trump is going to keep a lot of power and influence over the Republican Party and, should he not get a second term, will be the heavy favorite to become the 2024 GOP nominee. The poll was conducted by Morning Consult/Politico, and says Trump is already at the top of a list of 14 potential presidential candidates, with 68 percent of GOP voters saying they consider Trump to be the most in touch with the party’s rank and file members. via Newsmax: The poll, conducted from Nov. 21-23 among 669 Republicans and 1,990 voters overall, comes as Trump and many in the party are challenging the election. Newsmax has not called the election. The poll also showed: 71% of Republican voters say Trump is effective and committed to the country’s best interests, but just 17% say the same of congressional Republicans. 56% say Trump is predominantly looking out for the party’s best interests. 54% said they’d back Trump in a primary contest. 12% said they’d back Vice President Mike Pence. 8% would back Donald Trump Jr. against his father. 4% of Republicans each said they would support Texas Sen. Ted Cruz or former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley. Other members of the GOP, such as Sens. Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Rick Scott of Florida, and Josh Hawley of Missouri, got even less support for a potential 2024 presidential bid. President Trump has made it clear already that he wants to continue being influential in the Republican Party. He’s kept Ronna McDaniel as the chair to the Republican National Committee and has already built a political action committee. What this means is that if the left succeeds in stealing this election, they might be ousting Trump from the White House, but they are…
