MANIAC: Putin Says Russian Dissidents Will Be 'Cleansed'
As the Russian military continues to flounder embarrassingly in Ukraine, the rest of the world is getting a front row seat to the undoing of Vladimir Putin’s mental state.
The Russian President has long been a little off, having risen to power under authoritarian guiles, but finding himself so thoroughly humiliated in Ukraine has him spouting off in ways that we never thought possible.
His latest tirade appears to suggest that something sinister could befall the Russian people, and that he’s rooting for it.
“The collective West is attempting to splinter our society,” Putin said in a video address shared on Twitter. “Speculating on military losses, on socio-economic effects of sanctions, in order to provoke a people’s rebellion in Russia.”
“But any people, the Russian people especially, are able to distinguish true patriots from bastards and traitors, and will ‘spit them out,'” he said of those who do not back the Kremlin.
“I am certain that this necessary and natural self-cleaning of society will only strengthen our country, our solidarity, togetherness, and our readiness to answer any calls to action,” Putin said.
The desperate verbiage is concerting on a great many levels, and its similarities to the narrative of tyrants and genocidal maniacs of the past has many wondering if it isn’t time for NATO to get involved.
