CNN president Jeff Zucker recently criticized the president over his comments concerning the recent rash of bomb packages that have been sent out to both media outlets and numerous Democrats.
Zucker’s statement smashed Trump and the response from his press secretary, stating, “There is a total and complete lack of understanding at the White House about the seriousness of their continued attacks on the media.”
“The President, and especially the White House press secretary, should understand their words matter,” he added. “Thus far, they have shown no comprehension of that.”
As you might expect, many individuals agreed completely with Zucker’s response, but not so for Marco Rubio.
“Yes words matter,” Rubio tweeted. “Because freedom of speech allows us to air & settle our disagreements & grievances using words INSTEAD of violence.”Trending:
“The 1st Amendment protects press freedom,” he continued, “but it doesn’t bestow immunity from criticism. Criticism & calling people to violence are not the same.”
“Every American should be angry about these potentially explosive devices targeting U.S. political figures,” Rubio added in another tweet. “We should not ever tolerate terrorism against anyone. Period.”
Every American should be angry about these potentially explosive devices targeting U.S. political figures. We should not ever tolerate terrorism against anyone. Period. The full weight of the federal govt should be used to find, arrest, prosecute & punish whoever is behind this.

“Some already giving in to temptation to react to this terror attack by either assigning blame for or rationalizing it,” he concluded. “No sane or well intentioned person, no matter how partisan, would do this. It’s either the work of a demented person or terror aimed at further dividing America.”
At the moment, not a whole lot is known about the origin of these bombs, nor the complete and total motive behind them, though it’s been certainly made to look as if politics in some form is responsible for the bomber’s actions.
Rubio and others are right when they say we need to wait until more information is available. It does no good to speculate on these matters, as that is the path that leads to further division.
Let’s hope the situation is soon resolved.
