Mike Pompeo Now In Quarantine After Exposure To COVID-19

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has now been put into quarantine after “having come into contact” with a person who was infected with COVID-19, according to officials from the State Department.

“The Secretary has been tested and is negative,” a spokesperson for the State Department stated early on Wednesday. “In accordance with CDC guidelines, he will be in quarantine.”

Here’s more from The Washington Examiner:

Pompeo is the latest member of President Trump’s national security team to quarantine after an exposure. Several senior Defense Department leaders took the same step in October after the Coast Guard’s vice commandant tested positive. Pompeo had resumed his travel schedule in recent months, hedged by regular coronavirus tests.

“He is being closely monitored by the Department’s medical team,” the spokesperson said.

State Department leaders have not appeared to have the same difficulty managing the coronavirus as the White House team.

Due to privacy reasons, the spokesperson said they could not reveal the identity of the individual who was infected with the virus that Pompeo came into contact with.

The good news is, even if he does end up contracting it, there’s a very strong chance that he’ll get through the illness with flying colors.

Please say a prayer for Mr. Pompeo and his family.
