Movie Mogul Harvey Weinstein Surrenders to Police, Here's What He's Being Charged With
Infamous film producer and movie mogul Harvey Weinstein turned himself into New York police on Friday morning, where he’s going to be facing some pretty serious charges connected with the sexual assault of at least two women.
Weinstein was greeted by more than 100 reporters, cameramen, and photographers who captured the brain behind Miramax Films entering the Police Department’s 1st Precinct in Lower Manhattan.
Weinstein, 66, “stepped from a black SUV wearing a blazer and carrying books under his arm, and lumbered into a Manhattan police station before a crowd of news cameras. He didn’t respond to shouts of ‘Harvey!’ ” the Associated Press reported.

The chorus grew by the day — more than 75 women have now accused the former movie producer — but Weinstein escaped criminal charges. Until now.
Here’s some more information regarding potential charges from the Associated Press:
The exact charges against Weinstein still had not been made public early Friday. Two law enforcement officials told The Associated Press the case will include allegations by Lucia Evans, an aspiring actress who has said the Hollywood mogul forced her to perform oral sex on him in his office. She was among the first women to speak out about the producer.
One official said it’s likely the case also will include at least one other victim who has not come forward publicly.

Weinstein was expected to be charged at least with criminal sexual act, a crime that carries up to 25 years in prison, the officials said.
It seems pretty clear that Weinstein is guilty of a lot of what he’s being accused of, so it’s a fantastic thing to see the man being held accountable for his actions. Too many in the entertainment industry get away with criminal behavior because they have money and know the right people.
If they can prove his wrongdoing in a court of law, then he deserves a stiff punishment for the awful things he did to these ladies.
You don’t have to be a rabid feminist to believe that women deserve to be treated like treasures and not like objects, which, unfortunately, is how a lot of folks in Hollywood treat people.
Here’s to hoping that our justice system’s integrity is upheld and a fair trial granted.
