MTG Gets 'Swatted' in Latest Instance of Political Violence

As our nation grows ever nearer to full-blown political chaos, we are witnessing an unfathomable uptick in violence and vitriol the likes of which Americans haven’t experienced since the dawn of the Civil War.

Our two-party system has created a false dichotomy in which each and every issue must be divided into Team R or Team D, and these two political posses simply refuse to compromise in most cases.  Then, when you throw a dash of mainstream media hysteria into the mix, it becomes almost impossible to talk any sense into the radical among us.

This week’s most cogent example of this egregious behavior comes to us from the orbit of Georgia House Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.

A police report obtained by the Daily Dot reveals new details on the “swatting” attack against Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) at her Georgia home.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Greene stated that law enforcement arrived at her residence early Wednesday after she was targeted. Swatting involves making a prank call to emergency services in an effort to have police respond aggressively to a target’s home.

“Last night, I was swatted just after 1 am,” Greene wrote. “I can’t express enough gratitude to my local law enforcement here in Rome, Floyd County. More details to come.”

Calling the act of swatting a “prank” is disingenuous as best, as these incidents can and have resulted in bloodshed as confused members of law enforcement finds themselves attempting to rectify a situation that the target is unaware of.

The caller later used an electronic voice replicator to call police and note that Greene’s stance on transgender youth rights was the reason for the dangerous attack.

Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident.
