As Elon Musk was formulating his plan to acquire social media platform Twitter, he was doing so under the public auspices of free speech, with a staunch and stern series of statements aimed at resurrecting some long-dead holy truth about the world.
Since the takeover, however, things have been a bit stymied – perhaps by Musk’s own ego at times, and a number of somewhat hare-brained schemes meant to generate enough quick cash to keep the app that Musk purchased for $44 billion from going bankrupt.
Now, in the same spirits of transparency and attention, Musk is teasing the possibility of revealing internal Twitter documents regarding the network’s censorship of the Hunter Biden “laptop from Hell” scandal.
Musk made the comment in response to a tweet from Alex Lorusso of the conservative campus organization Turning Point USA, who was recently reinstated on the platform.
“Raise your hand if you think @ElonMusk should make public all internal discussions about the decision to censor the @NYPost’s story on Hunter Biden’s laptop before the 2020 Election in the interest of Transparency,” said Lorusso.Trending:
“This is necessary to restore public trust,” responded Musk.
Musk has been on a truth kick, that’s for sure.
Earlier in the day, Musk hinted that the world needs to “know the truth” about the extent of political censorship at Twitter.
Should Musk’s version of Twitter survive through to the next election cycle, things could get very, very interesting.
