Nancy Pelosi Appears Unconcerned About Taliban Possessing American Assets

There are plenty of reasons why the world should fear the recent Taliban coup in Afghanistan, but it doesn’t appear as though everyone in the American political system gets it.

This was especially true for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who this week gave an incredibly nonchalant answer regarding the American assets that are now in the possession of this Islamic terror organization.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., was ripped for trying to spin reports of billions of dollars of U.S. military equipment now in the hands of the Taliban, arguing it’s “what happens” when troops leave.

“This is what happens when you withdraw,” Pelosi said in an interview with KPIX 5 News Tuesday. “Some stuff is left there. It was thought that would be used. It was hoped that would be used by the Afghan military to defend its own country.”

“The fact that it did not and could not,” Pelosi added, “was all more the reason for us to leave.”

The statement was swiftly scorched on Twitter, with many calling out Pelosi’s ridiculously tone-deaf attitude.
Some even went so far as to suggest that Pelosi was acting as a mouthpiece for the administration.

“Pelosi doing her best to sell Biden’s catastrophic botch,” added Jorge Bonilla, director of the conservative Media Research Center Latino.

The bungling of the US troop withdrawal from Afghanistan could have widespread implications throughout the region and the world at large.
