NBC Says Shutdown "Doomsday" is Coming, Publishes Checklist
With the mainstream media, by nature, designed to increase in fervor as any particular topic lingers too long, there is no way of telling which way is up on this government shutdown.
Through all the hyperbole and fanatical rantings that we suffer on television, the truth is out there: 800,000 federal workers won’t be getting a paycheck because Congress refuses to pass a budget bill that includes President Trump’s requested amount. We are currently three days shy of the record of a 21-day shutdown, part of the Bill Clinton presidency, and there is seemingly no end in sight.
The heels are dug in. The doors have been slammed. Those boats have sailed. Whatever metaphor you like. They all apply.
NBC has taken this sentiment a bit further, however, outlining, in detail, what a “shutdown doomsday” scenario would look like.
“We’ll be in no man’s land,” Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Analytics, told NBC News.
