New Legislation Could Make the DC Swamp More Powerful Than Ever!

One of the most powerful sentiments that President Trump exuded during his time on the campaign trail was that he was no DC Swamp creature.

His characterization of the Beltway as a putrid, Potomac-adjacent cesspool of corruption and connivery was spot-on, and We The People responded in a big way.  We sent Hillary Clinton packing in November of 2016 – no small feat against a woman who was so sure of her own impending victory that she didn’t even write a concession speech.

With Trump seated in the Oval Office, the swamp creatures are scrambling, that’s for sure.  Their grip on power is fading, albeit much more slowly than many Americans would have liked.

Now, however, a new bill introduced into Congress could give these amphibious and asinine ruling class cretins a new leg to stand on.

Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton has introduced a bill to make the District the 51st state.

H.R. 51, the D.C. Statehood Bill, was introduced by Holmes Norton on Thursday, the day that the 116th Congress was gaveled into session.

“I have a commitment that there will be a hearing on H.R. 51 from our good Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Elijah Cummings that this bill will get a prompt hearing and then, of course, go to the floor,” Holmes Norton said in a video posted to her official Twitter page.

Statehood for DC would certainly benefit the democrats in the House and Senate, but offers new challenges for the nation as well.

Senators unlikely to win against their GOP counterparts in the actual states could easily relocate to DC, (where many already take up a second residence), giving themselves a second chance to maintain their grip over the working class of our great nation.
