New Poll Reveals Startling Fact About VP’s Popularity

That’s not good for the left side of the aisle.

Kamala Harris was an ostensibly strange choice for Joe Biden’s running mate in 2020, given that her political pedigree stemmed almost exclusively from her time as a California prosecutor, and at a time in which the nation appeared to be hellbent on reforming the criminal justice system from top to bottom.

Yet, still, the Democrats went ahead and elected Harris, and the polling numbers are now revealing what a mistake that may have been.

After a little more than six months in her current role, potential 2024 presidential candidate Kamala Harris has become one of the least popular vice presidents since the 1970’s.

The Telegraph reported over the weekend that “two recent polls both showed 46 percent of Americans approved of Harris, with 47 percent and 48 percent disapproving.”

According to Gallup, the Telegraph noted, 42.1 percent approved of former Vice President Mike Pence’s performance at the same point in his term while 41.9 percent disapproved.

And then…

“The previous vice president — Biden — had an approval rating above 50 percent after six months. Before that Dick Cheney, and Al Gore, were in the 60s at the same stage,” the report stated. “Even Dan Quayle, the much-mocked vice president of George H.W. Bush, had an approval rating of 43 percent, and disapproval of just 22 percent, with 34 percent undecided.”

“Bush himself was a popular vice president under Ronald Reagan, as was his predecessor Walter Mondale, who became Jimmy Carter’s vice president in 1976,” the report concluded.

Harris has drawn a great deal of criticism during her time in office, particularly on the subject of the southern border after the Vice President was tapped to lead the effort to quell the humanitarian crisis there, but then refused to visit for over three months.

LONG WAY FROM ROCK BOTTOM: Biden’s Approval Rating Tanks Again

“I literally have no idea what he’s doing.”

One year into the Biden presidency, and it certainly doesn’t appear as though the 46th President of these United States has any plan to right the ship.

Biden, along with Vice President Kamala Harris, have been characterized as being asleep at the wheel of the nation, with the Commander in Chief himself appearing to be truly reluctant to govern at all.  (The Democrats did have to coax him into running in the first place, so perhaps we should not be surprised).

This unwillingness to make change has Americans brutally punishing the President in the polls.

President Biden faced criticism from over soaring gas prices, inflation and his policies as his approval rating sank to 33% in a recent poll.

“I give him a minus 10,” Stuart, of Tucson, said when asked to grade Biden on a scale of 1-10.

“If you like inflation, you like illegal criminals coming across the border, if you like where he killed the gasoline,” he continued.

Arland, of San Francisco, gave Biden a seven and said, “I think he’s got his heart in the right place, but his policies don’t have that much effect.”

And then, succinctly:

Sanjoy, from Arizona, also gave the president a seven, but said, “I literally have no idea what he’s doing.”

Other polling has also suggested that the Democratic Party is seeking to replace Biden on the 2024 ticket, despite the President’s assurances that he plans to run again.
