NYT’s Mara Gay ‘Disturbed’ by Flying of American Flag on Long Island

What will the left think of next?

Published

One of the most detrimental facets of the manufactured dichotomy of American politics is that everything is now being forced into one column or the other.  Every single issue is being divvied up onto either Team R or Team D, and there is no room for sharing.

It’s a disturbing trend that will eventually leave Americans with little to call their own, as the two-party system gobbles up every last bit of our culture to score political points.

The symptoms of this issue are rather apparent this week, as a columnist for the New York Times suggests that flying the American flag is somehow innately “disturbing” due to the fact that conservatives might be the ones doing the displaying.

MSNBC contributor Mara Gay said Tuesday that she was “disturbed” to see “dozens of American flags” flown by Donald Trump supporters during a weekend trip to Long Island, New York.

The left-wing editorial board member for The New York Times was also distressed by what she called expletives on the trucks against President Biden, describing the flag-flying Trump supporters as sending a clear message: “This is my country … not your country. I own this.”

The full comments were even more alarming.

“I was on Long Island this weekend visiting a really dear friend, and I was really disturbed. I saw, you know, dozens and dozens of pickup trucks with explicatives [sic] against Joe Biden on the back of them, Trump flags, and in some cases just dozens of American flags, which is also just disturbing … Essentially the message was clear. This is my country. This is not your country. I own this,” Gay said.

By suggesting that the American flag itself is some sort of symbol of hate, Gay has crossed a line in rhetoric that many thought that we’d never cross, and it may be hard for the liberal left to step back over it.

Even MSNBC is Over Kamala Harris and Her Border Negligence

Even the liberal media can’t stand for this nonsense anymore.

Published

When President Joe Biden announced that VP Kamala Harris would be the de facto Border Czar several months ago, the statement came with the sort of gusto that had Americans wondering if something really would change.  The sentiment was that, if the Vice President was being called to action, there’d be no messing around.

Spoiler alert:  There was plenty of messing around.

Harris first refused to address the humanitarian crisis on the border head-on, insisting that her strategy would be to focus on climate change, citing that as a “root cause” of illegal immigration.  Then even after repeated cries for her to help, it took over three months for Harris to even visit the border.

Now, as the catastrophe continues, even liberal-friendly MSNBC is losing the faith.

MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle criticized Vice President Kamala Harris Monday for being missing in action during the ongoing crisis on the southern border.

Startling images of thousands of migrants camped under the International Bridge in Del Rio, Texas over the weekend confirmed that the situation on the border remains chaotic. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has determined the situation to be so dire that he’s asked President Joe Biden for a federal emergency declaration, saying that as of Saturday there were nearly 16,000 migrants in Del Rio.

This had Ruhle incensed.

“How about the message from our Vice President?” Ruhle asked Monday. “Where is she? She was supposed to be in charge of all of these migration issues, going to those Northern Triangle countries that’s obviously not Haiti.”

Ruhle reminded viewers that on her trip to Guatemala to spearhead diplomatic outreach on the crisis, Harris told migrants rather pointedly, “do not come.”

But “people aren’t listening,” Ruhle noted.

The Biden administration’s complete and utter inability to wrangle this disaster has been a thorn in their side from the first week that they took office, and without a major shift in their policies, it will continue to be trouble long into the future.

MSNBC Host Says Election Skeptics Have a ‘Lack of Masculinity’

The gender-charged language revealed a dirty little secret about the left’s gender wars, too.

Published

on

Over the years, there have been innumerable ways in which the left-leaning mainstream media has chosen to insult those with whom they disagree, sometimes subtly, but often with the brute force and all the grace of a three-legged alligator wearing a blindfold.

This bombastic bias only turned more heated during Donald Trump’s first term as President, as the volume of the Commander in Chief dared pundits and talking heads to try and keep up.

Now, as things turn downright despicable on MSNBC, host Nicolle Wallace took a very cheap shot at a very large segment of the US population.

Reporter Jacob Soboroff said, “Governor Newsom saying that the Republicans are trying to dismantle democracy and that he will accept the results of the election win or lose, full stop, a very different message than we heard from Larry Elder yesterday.”

He added, “This is straight out of the Donald Trump playbook. You heard the governor refer to that as well. Is there a Republican icon in California that’s done this? I don’t believe so. Clearly, there is one in national American politics, the former president of the United States.”

Then came the shocker:

Wallace said, “You’re right. I worked for Dan Lungren, who was behind who never questioned the election results. I came up in politics in California working for Republicans who faced long odds, and not a single one of them ever debased the state’s voters. They never debased democracy itself. They were not sore losers. They were real men.”

She added, “I wonder, Jason Johnson if you can speak to the lack of masculinity in these male Republican candidates who can’t take a punch politically. They can’t win on the merits. They’re too weak and unpopular, so they cry foul, they cry rigged. It goes counter to all the over bogus machismo coming out of the sickest, most toxic elements of the political right.”

While Wallace’s unflinching decision to go low is shocking in and of itself, the fact that she would dare to use gender-charged language in front of the ultra-progressive MSNBC audience is surprising as well.

We know that Wallace meant to emasculate the GOP here, but she then chose to use the only language that could make her point so succinctly, and in doing so, she has unwillingly admitted that the left’s gender-language game is rigged for use only against those who they deem worth attacking.
