Obama Declared 12 ‘National Emergencies,’ Yet Media Did Not Mind At All

The hypocrisy is not only palpable, but despicable.

Despite what the media may be telling you, presidents have been declaring “national emergencies” to shift spending to a needed area for decades. In fact, Obama did it 12 times and the media didn’t care at all.

Indeed, ten of the “national emergencies” Obama called are still in effect and funding is being shifted to those declarations to this day.

The first “national emergency” used to shift spending into high gear was declared by Gerald Ford in 1976 and every president since then has used the means to pay for something he wanted addressed.

In 1976, U.S. President Gerald Ford signed off on the National Emergencies Act (NEA), federal legislation that ended all previous national states of emergency and formalized the process by which the President can declare states of emergencies and undertake special powers during those emergencies.

Every president since — Carter, Reagan, H.W. Bush, Clinton, G.W. Bush, and Obama — also issued their own declarations.

Obama issued 12 of them, and ten are still drawing funds.

According to ABC News, here are the Obama “emergencies” still in effect are:

April 12, 2010: The National Emergency With Respect to Blocking Property of Certain Persons Contributing to the Conflict in Somalia was in respect to threats posed by Somali pirates.

February 25, 2011: The National Emergency With Respect to Blocking Property and Prohibiting Certain Transactions Related to Libya froze the assets of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.

July 25, 2011: The National Emergency With Respect to Blocking Property of Transnational Criminals was in response to the rise in crime by specific organizations: Los Zetas (Mexico), The Brothers’ Circle (former Soviet Union countries), the Yakuza (Japan), and the Camorra (Italy).

May 16, 2012: The National Emergency With Respect to Blocking Property of Persons Threatening the Peace, Security, or Stability of Yemen addressed political unrest within the Yemen government.

March 16, 2014: The National Emergency With Respect to Blocking Property of Certain Persons Contributing to the Situation in Ukraine was in response to the Russian invasion of Crimea.

April 3, 2014: The National Emergency With Respect to Blocking Property of Certain Persons With Respect to South Sudan was in response to the ongoing civil war.

May 12, 2014: The National Emergency With Respect to Blocking Property of Certain Persons Contributing to the Conflict in the Central African Republic was in response to violence towards humanitarian aid workers.

March 8, 2015: The National Emergency With Respect to Blocking Property and Suspending Entry of Certain Persons Contributing to the Situation in Venezuela was in response to human rights violations.

April 1, 2015: The National Emergency With Respect to Blocking the Property of Certain Persons Engaging in Significant Malicious Cyber-Enabled Activities was in response to Chinese cyber attacks on the U.S.

Nov 23, 2015: The National Emergency With Respect to Blocking Property of Certain Persons Contributing to the Situation in Burundi was declared after a failed coup.

Thus far, Trump has issued only three such declarations, so he’s lagging behind the rest.

So, when the media and the Never Trumpers pretend that Trump’s border declaration is “unprecedented” and “dangerous,” ignore their claims because it’s not a new concept at all.

Like it or not, it has been going on for decades.

AOC Fails to Mention Amazon Only Bringing 1,500 Jobs Instead of 25,000 After She Interfered

23,500 less jobs. Not good.

It might be time to raise the age limit for members of Congress. However old AOC is is clearly too young. She’s far too naive to be in such a position of power. And worse yet, you just know she’ll run for president in 2024. That’s a devastatingly scary thought. After working to undermine Amazon’s deal to open a headquarters in her state, which would’ve brought with it billions for the local economy and 25,000 jobs, AOC celebrated and Amazon moved on. On Saturday, the Jeff Bezos-led company announced it would open a much, much smaller operation in Manhattan, employing only 1,500 people. In case AOC isn’t sure, that’s a lose of 23,500 potential jobs. She doesn’t care, though. She thinks she won the argument. Naturally, she’s wrong. Go figure. Me waiting on the haters to apologize after we were proven right on Amazon and saved the public billions https://twitter.com/AOC/status/1203093051859750912?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1203093051859750912&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Ftherightscoop.com%2Focasio-cortez-declares-victory-after-amazon-announces-offices-in-nyc-but-theres-a-yuge-problem-with-her-story%2F From Daily Mail: However, the congresswoman’s critics were quick to point out that Amazon’s new plans differ significantly from the cancelled HQ2. ‘Another day, another viral misleading tweet from AOC. Amazon is leasing office space in Manhattan for 1,500 employees, which is 6% of the 25,000 jobs its HQ2 in Queens (her district) was supposed to add,’ tweeted Peter J. Hasson, a reporter for the Daily Caller. ‘Amazon is now going to create just 6% of the jobs they would’ve before AOC killed their deal with NYC (1,500 vs 25,000), but by all means take a victory lap for the 23,500 jobs that are never coming to NYC thanks to AOC,’ tweeted Josh Jordan, and marketing-research consultant in Chicago. While we’re here, let’s clear up some GOP disinfo: – “It’s 1500 jobs vs 25,000”: The 25,000 jobs figure was a 10-20 year fantasy # from Amazon, not a promise or…

Democrat Rep. Says Trump Must Be Impeached In Order to ‘Deal With Slavery’ [Watch]

This is some kind of awful, right here…

Texas Rep. Al Green has been calling for President Trump’s impeachment more often than quite possibly any other Democrat in Congress. The guy absolutely loathes the duly-elected leader simply because…his policies are working? His guy didn’t win in 2016? He needs the attention? Who knows? There isn’t a legitimate answer to the question. The only thing Dems understand is that they dislike 45’s tweets so they want him out of office. How mature. Check out Green’s appearance on MSNBC where he finds the nerve to conflate Trump with “slavery,” while ignorantly ignoring that black unemployment is at record low levels in America. From Daily Wire: Green, who has previously stated that Trump must be impeachment or else “he will get reelected,” said this week that there is “no limit” to the number of times that Democrats can try to impeach the president. WATCH: Democrat Rep. Al Green says the impeachment of @realDonaldTrump is needed “to deal with slavery.” MSNBC’s Alex Witt “mmhhhmms” throughout the clip in agreement. https://twitter.com/SteveGuest/status/1203420159639277573?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1203420159639277573&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailywire.com%2Fnews%2Fdemocrat-congressman-al-green-trump-must-be-impeached-to-deal-with-slavery Let them keep thinking Trump should be impeached. Let’s see how that plays out for them. As we’ve seen so far, it’s not going well. In fact, it’s going very poorly. Here’s the latest regarding impeachment support, via Washington Examiner: The Emerson poll released Thursday found support for impeachment has dropped from 48% to 43% since October, while opposition to impeachment has risen from 44% to 45%. Independents are key in the shift, with 49% opposing impeachment and only 34% supporting impeachment. In October, 48% of independents supported impeachment and 39% opposed. From Daily Wire: Kurt Volker, the former U.S. special envoy to Ukraine, and Tim Morrison, a top National Security Council official that was on President Donald Trump’s Ukraine phone call, both confirmed during their testimonies on Tuesday that there was…
