Ocasio-Cortez Rips Dem Candidates for Accepting Billionaire Donations, But She Did It Too

Just slightly hypocritical on this one, AOC…

What Democrats love to do is discourage Americans from turning a profit through innovation. In other words, to lefties, Bill Gates should not have billions of dollars for putting a product out into the world that hundreds of millions of people use on a daily basis.

To the economically illiterate, it doesn’t make sense that person A has a single dollar more than person B, regardless of personal or professional circumstances. But that’s not how America operates, as we are a collection of individuals. If people want to buy what you have to offer, then keep on selling. Capitalism, baby.

When liberals drive past a $10 million home, they’ll say, nobody should live like that. But when conservatives drive past the same house, they’ll say, everybody should live like that. Quite the difference.

Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has spent a lot of time repeatedly demonizing billionaires and attacking other Democrats for accepting money from billionaires since entering politics.

However, Ocasio-Cortez is now under fire for once again being a hypocrite as FEC records show that Ocasio-Cortez accepted $2,700, the maximum a person can donate to a campaign, from billionaire Tom Steyer — who is now a Democrat presidential candidate — in August 2018.

At a California rally for fellow socialist Bernie Sanders, AOC screeched, “For anyone who accuses us for instituting purity tests — it’s called having values. It’s called giving a damn. It’s called having standards for your conduct to not be funded by billionaires but to be funded by the people.

There are rights and then there are privileges.

There are some things certain people might think are rights when they are actually privileges, and those people voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016.

One of those people is the dangerously far-left freshman Democrat.

One woman who was searching for an apartment in NYC was asked to pay a $100 application fee, followed by a $400 “processing fee,” even though such upfront fees had been capped at $20 as a result of new rent laws passed by New York lawmakers in June.

AOC just had to speak up, you guys…

Rent has gotten to extortion-level highs in New York City, and there’s a whole lot of lawbreaking that happens because so many working people are on the brink.

Housing is a right. NY’s rent laws must be enforced if abusive, predatory actors are breaking them.

Fraternal Order of Police Responds to LeBron James’ Tweet Fiasco

And they were NOT happy.

The politicization of American sports has been ongoing for some time, perhaps decades, but the most recent acceleration of this melding has come thanks to the power of social media and the blurring of the line between celebrity and athlete. At the forefront of this movement has been the NBA, and, more specifically, superstar LeBron James. This week, James came under fire for a tweet in which he referenced the Derek Chauvin trial’s guilty verdicts, with a photo of another officer who was involved in the shooting of a young black girl and text stating “you’re next”. The tweet was seen as a threat by many, including the Fraternal Order of Police who responded harshly. On Wednesday, James tweeted a photo of the officer involved in the shooting with a caption reading “YOU’RE NEXT #ACCOUNTABILITY.” The tweet has since been deleted. James was reacting to the deadly police shooting of 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant. Hours later, the National Fraternal Order of Police tweeted a photo of James’ original tweet, saying: “[email protected], with his vast resources & influence, should educate himself and, frankly, has a responsibility to do so, on the facts before weighing in. This is disgraceful & extremely reckless. The officer saved a young girl’s life. No amount of gaslighting will change that fact.” James attempted to walk back the tweet after deleting it, by issuing an explanation that garnered only a lukewarm response online.

Biden Administration Reveal Unwieldy Goal for Greenhouse Emissions

Is this The Green New Deal decentralized?

Published

on

As the White House returned to Democratic control in the early days of 2021, there was a real hope among those on the left side of the aisle that this would bring about a new prioritization of climate issues, and possibly even the “Green New Deal”. That plan, which was buoyed by the involvement of social media maven and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, was quickly labeled a deal-breaker by Republicans, and any mention of the Green New Deal would bring with it a great deal of political gravity. So, instead of pushing forward under the banner of that now-tainted name, President Joe Biden is simply decentralizing the plan and pulling several different climate levers at once. President Joe Biden is pledging to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by 50% to 52% by 2030, in the latest push by the administration to aggressively combat climate change. The target, announced Thursday, more than doubles the country’s prior commitment under the 2015 Paris climate agreement, when the Obama administration set out to cut emissions 26% to 28% below 2005 levels by 2025. The U.S. is currently not yet halfway to meeting that goal. Biden’s pledge on Earth Day is in line with what environmental groups and hundreds of executives at major companies have pushed for. The president announce the target at the closely watched global leaders’ climate summit on Thursday, during which he hopes to urge global cooperation to address the climate crisis. Make no mistake about it:  This is still the Green New Deal…the left just isn’t brave enough to call it that.
