Peaceful Protesters Attacked by Russian Troops in Kherson
Evidence of war crimes being committed by Russian soldiers in Ukraine continues to mount this week, as it becomes increasingly clear that Vladimir Putin has no plan to politically, (or otherwise), survive this failing invasion.
Putin has turned desperate and despotic in recent days, ordering his troops to commit heinous and atrocious acts against unarmed Ukrainian civilians. World leaders have already begun to suggest that these war crimes are being closely cataloged and that a referral to the International Criminal Court is all but assured.
The latest example comes to us from Kherson, Ukraine.
Russian soldiers have opened fire on civilian protesters in the captured Ukrainian city of Kherson and wounded at least one person, local media has reported, as Vladimir Putin’s troops stepped up their war of attrition against civilians by shelling the city of Odessa.
Footage taken in Kherson and shared by media with links to the Ukrainian military, showed one man bleeding heavily from the leg after being shot during a demonstration. Russian forces used firearms as well as stun grenades to try and disperse the protesters, the Interfax news agency reported.
And that wasn’t all…
It came as Vladimir Putin’s warships opened fire on civilian areas in the Black Sea port city of Odesa today, marking the first time residents have been targeted. Officials said several houses were destroyed and a fire sparked, but there was no immediate word on casualties.

CCTV footage from the city of Kharkiv also emerged showing a strike on a supermarket queue last week.
Given the growing dissent among Russians and the ever-wider breadth of the international response, the continuation of these highly illegal and immoral attacks seems to belie Vladimir Putin’s fatalist attitude toward Ukraine; an attitude that has world leaders growing more concerned by the day .
