POTUS Pushes for Free Speech Protections After Online Culling of Conservative Views

The fight for free speech is on, and the President knows it.

It has been plain and obvious that some of the largest traffickers of data on the internet are no fans of conservative viewpoints.

Often, these companies are driven by young people, and very bright and revolutionary young people at that.  They’re young enough to have escaped some of the darker biases of the past, but they are perhaps too young to have the direct link to the knowledge necessary to prevent such atrocities from occurring again.

What these kids were taught in school about World War II was likely much different than what my generation was taught.  I vividly remember being made to memorize a timeline of events leading up to the conflict, as if to tell us “if, God forbid, you see these patterns again later in life, you need to remember what they led to”.

Censorship of opposing political viewpoints was part and parcel to the Nazi rise to power in the late 1930’s, and some of today’s tech giants are heading down that path once again.

President Trump took to Twitter on Friday evening and slammed social media censorship in reaction to Facebook’s recent crackdown of conspiracy theorists, a prominent anti-Semite, and other far-right figures, saying that he’s “monitoring and watching closely.”

On Thursday, Facebook permanently banned Nation of Islam founder Louis Farrakhan, InfoWars host Alex Jones, and rightwing provocateurs Milo Yiannopoulos, Laura Loomer, while Paul Joseph Watson. InfoWars’ page was also taken down.

“We’ve always banned individuals or organizations that promote or engage in violence and hate, regardless of ideology. The process for evaluating potential violators is extensive and it is what led us to our decision to remove these accounts today,” Facebook said in a statement to Fox News.

The President was none too fond of the move.

The President is right, and here’s why:

You, dear reader, likely have a fondness for a certain kind of music.  Let’s say it’s Classic Rock.  You run the gamut from Skynyrd to Zeppelin to Bad Company all in the span of an hour, without so much as missing a beat.

But, as a rock and roll sort of person, you’ve never been all that into Classical music.  Does that make you want to go out and destroy all the classical records and ban people from playing the Harpsichord?

No, it doesn’t, because we understand that other people like other things….and that’s okay.  Diversity of thought is one of the most critically important characteristics of our country, and we should be defending our opponents’ right to say what they believe, even if we don’t agree with it.

Democrat Governor Frees 8,000 Inmates Over COVID-19, But Bans Singing In Churches

Priorities?

Once again, the Golden State continues to lead the nation in crazy. Thanks to radically far-left Governor Gavin Newsom, 8,000 prisoners will be freed due to spikes in coronavirus – which most likely stem from increased testing and Black Lives Matter riots, where police officers are treated like animals. Newsom has no problem banning singing in church, though. From KPIX 5: The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) on Friday said it estimates 8,000 currently incarcerated persons could be eligible for release by end of August under release authority granted to the CDCR Secretary allowing alternative confinement or release in any case in which an emergency endangering the lives of incarcerated persons has occurred or is imminent. The 8,000 inmates to be released are in addition to the state’s reduction of about 10,000 inmates since the start of the pandemic. Jay Jordan, the executive director of Californians for Safety and Justice, noted: “We’re glad the Governor is taking action to release more people. This is absolutely critical for the health and safety of every Californian. Too many people are incarcerated for too long in facilities that spread poor health. Supporting the health and safety of all Californians means releasing people unnecessarily incarcerated and transforming our justice system.” Regarding church, via Fox News: Faith leaders are speaking out after California Gov. Gavin Newsom banned singing and chanting in houses of worship last week due to a surge in coronavirus cases following weeks of protests. “Places of worship must, therefore, discontinue singing and chanting activities and limit indoor attendance to 25 percent of building capacity or a maximum of 100 attendees, whichever is lower,” the new guidelines read as state health officials recommend churches have members sing online from their homes. Roger Stone Will Not Serve Prison Time, Has Sentence Commuted By POTUS Trump

Freedom!

Liberals are going to have a field day with this one. Then again, they generally go bananas for anything and everything “Trump,” so this will just be more gas on the fire. As of late Friday evening, longtime Trump adviser Roger Stone learned that he won’t be serving time in the big house. From Fox News: Tucker Carlson lauded President Trump’s commutation of longtime Republican political consultant Roger Stone’s prison sentence Friday, saying the 67-year-old had been the victim of a “nakedly political” set-up aimed to put him away for the rest of his “useful and expected life.” Stone was to report to prison Tuesday on charges of witness tampering and making false statements in connection to the Mueller investigation of alleged collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign. Carlson said, “His arrest and his trial were nakedly political. It was a set-up. The presiding judge, a political activist called Amy Berman Jackson, issued a gag order that prohibited Stone from defending himself in public or making a living. She bankrupted him as a result.” Here’s the letter from the White House: California Congressman Eric Swalwell’s (D) 2020 presidential campaign lasted a solid five minutes. Even he probably knew he didn’t stand a chance. But that hasn’t stopped the radically far-left liberal from saying some very, very silly things. Swalwell knows the lines he’s supposed to parrot and does it well – or, at least, well enough. He’s just not the most likable of characters. In February, the Democrat suggested a new plan his peers might hatch in order to take down the duly-elected president of the United States.
