Presidential Hopefuls Throw Weight Behind "Reparations" for Slavery

As race relations in our country continue to thrash and flail toward some semblance of understanding, we must be weary of those who would use this turbulence for personal gain.

The most obvious example of this in recent memory is the still-developing case of actor Jussie Smollett, who is being accused of perpetrating multiple hate crime hoaxes, reportedly for the purpose of ballooning his publicity in order to ask for a raise in Hollywood.

What Smollett has done is manipulate our emotions for fame, and recognizing the evil in this is the only way to combat such men.

Smollett is an ugly and profound example of the liberals’ agenda of division, in which they segregate their own constituents for the purpose of marketing their candidates more effectively.  They divide and conquer, quite simply, and often they do so on the basis of race.

As the 2020 presidential election begins to crest our horizon, two hopefuls are now stirring the potent racial brew in our nation again – but to what end, they likely do not know.

Two leading Democratic presidential candidates — U.S. Sens. Kamala Harris of California and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts — have reportedly said they support reparations for black Americans affected by slavery, reflecting a shift in the importance of race and identity issues within the party.

The New York Times reported Thursday that Harris doubled down on her support for reparations after agreeing with a host on the popular radio show “The Breakfast Club” that the race-conscious policy was necessary to address the legacies of slavery and discrimination in the United States.

“We have to be honest that people in this country do not start from the same place or have access to the same opportunities,” Harris said in the statement to the Times. “I’m serious about taking an approach that would change policies and structures and make real investments in black communities.”

Warren also supports reparations.

Of course, the irony is palpable considering the recent racial faux-pas that both Harris and Warren have been involved in.

Warren had long claimed that she was of Cherokee descent, a fact not supported by the results of a recent DNA test.  Warren has since apologized to Native Americans for her actions.

Kamala Harris, during Black History Month no less, lied about smoking marijuana and listening to Snoop Dogg and Tupac while in school.  According to the math, however, Harris was not in school at the times in which these artists were producing music, having had graduated several years prior.
