Putin 'Not Bluffing' About Nuke Attack, as He Drafts 300,000 for War

The humiliation suffered by Russian President Vladimir Putin has reached critical mass, forcing the petty dictator to reach deep into his bag of tyrannical tricks in order to figuratively, (and literally), stop the bleeding.

Putin’s forces have been largely repelled by Ukrainian troops in recent weeks, with reports of Moscow’s militias simply throwing their rifles on the ground and running back to the Russian border.

And so, in what appears to be a desperate admission of real trouble, Putin is forcing a draft of 300,000 citizens to bolster his capacity in Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization in Russia, which will require citizens to join the war effort in Ukraine. He also warned Western nations not to attack Russia’s territories, which would be met with swift retaliation.

Putin’s address on Wednesday comes as Russia’s invasion reaches nearly seven months and amid a successful counteroffensive by Ukraine’s military.

Conscription is “fully adequate to the threats we face, namely to protect our homeland, its sovereignty and territorial integrity, to ensure the security of our people and people in the liberated territories,” he said.

Those liberated territories are going to be key to his next move, as well, with sham referendums scheduled to “annex” these regions to Russia.  Then, when the Ukrainians come to liberate them, Putin will attempt to say that Russia is being invaded – perhaps as a pretext for the use of nuclear weapons.

Putin has threatened the West not to interfere. He also discouraged them from “nuclear blackmail” or using nukes against Russia.

“To those who allow themselves such statements regarding Russia, I want to remind you that our country also has various means of destruction, and for separate components and more modern than those of NATO countries and when the territorial integrity of our country is threatened, to protect Russia and our people, we will certainly use all the means at our disposal,” Putin said.

He then added, “it’s not a bluff” – a statement that has some experts alarmed, of only for its sheer desperation.
