For months now, there have been persistent and rather credible rumors surrounding the health of Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin.
The former KGB agent is said to be suffering from terminal bowel cancer, at least according to Pentagon sources, and a number of international intelligence agencies have been quick to corroborate that possibility.
Now, as Russia looks to strengthen its relationship with the authoritarian Islamic regime in Iran, there is evidence that Putin is using a body double while visiting Tehran.
Russian leader Vladimir Putin may have been replaced by a lookalike body double during a trip to Iran this week, a top Ukrainian intelligence official said.
The Russian president, who has long been rumored to be ailing with an illness and possibly cancer, appeared more alert and mobile than usual during his visit to Iran to meet with Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Ukrainian sources told The Sun.Trending:
Maj. Gen. Kyrylo O. Budanov told Ukrainian outlet 1+1 that Putin’s lively appearance during the visit was uncharacteristic, and suggested that the man seen in the footage wasn’t Putin.
“I will only hint,” Budanov said, according to the translation.
The hint was rather specific:
“Please look at the moment of Putin’s exit from the plane. Is it Putin at all?”
Photos of the airplane exit can be seen below:

The use of body doubles has long been a rumored maneuver from some of the world’s less scrupulous leaders, and such a tactic certainly wouldn’t be out of the question when it comes to an reportedly ailing Vladimir Putin.
