Ron DeSantis Plans FL Paramilitary Force With No Federal Oversight

Whoa!

Published

Over the course of the last several years, Americans have been hearing all sorts of doom and gloom from the mainstream media.  Pandemic, politics, and catastrophe, piped into our psyche 24/7.

We’re heading for disaster, if you ascribe to whatever the infotainment industry is telling you.  There’s no avoiding it, whether it be an economic collapse, a cultural genocide, or even a civil war.

And the latest move out of Florida has many wondering if that last threat isn’t all that hyperbolic anymore.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis wants to reestablish a World War II-era civilian military force that he, not the Pentagon, would control.

DeSantis pitched the idea Thursday as a way to further support the Florida National Guard during emergencies, like hurricanes. The Florida National Guard has also played a vital role during the pandemic in administering Covid-19 tests and distributing vaccines.

But in a nod to the growing tension between Republican states and the Biden administration over the National Guard, DeSantis also said this unit, called the Florida State Guard, would be “not encumbered by the federal government.” He said this force would give him “the flexibility and the ability needed to respond to events in our state in the most effective way possible.” DeSantis is proposing bringing it back with a volunteer force of 200 civilians, and he is seeking $3.5 million from the state legislature in startup costs to train and equip them.

But this isn’t all that unusual…

States have the power to create defense forces separate from the national guard, though not all of them use it. If Florida moves ahead with DeSantis’ plan to reestablish the civilian force, it would become the 23rd active state guard in the country, DeSantis’ office said in a press release, joining California, Texas and New York. These guards are little-known auxiliary forces with origins dating back to the advent of state militias in the 18th century. While states and the Department of Defense share control of the National Guard, state guards are solely in the power of a governor.

The move comes amid a tense standoff between the Pentagon and the National Guard in Oklahoma, the latter of which is seeking a vaccine mandate exemption that the former isn’t willing to give.

J6 Committee Seeks to Compel Testimony from Ivanka Trump

Oh boy…

Ivanka Trump

The tactics being employed by the January 6th committee would be most accurately described as “spray and pray”; similar to the way someone in a video game may just hold on the trigger of an digital automatic weapon while wildly flailing their aim point.

That is to say, the Democrats running the group appear to be throwing just about everything at the wall and trying to see what sticks.

Their latest barrage of figurative brass comes in the form of a request to a very close family member of former President Donald Trump.

The House committee investigating the U.S. Capitol insurrection is asking Ivanka Trump, daughter of former President Donald Trump, to voluntarily cooperate as lawmakers make their first public attempt to arrange an interview with a Trump family member.

The committee sent a letter Thursday requesting a meeting in February with Ivanka Trump, a White House adviser to her father. In the letter, the committee chairman, Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., said Ivanka Trump was in direct contact with her father during key moments on Jan. 6, 2021, when Trump supporters stormed the Capitol in an effort to halt the congressional certification of Joe Biden’s presidential win.

It is unlikely that Trump will comply, given the pattern that we’ve witnessed thus far in the investigation.

This will allow the committee to spring yet another entrapment scheme, with Ivanka likely refusing to comply until the issue of executive privilege is adjudicated properly.  If history serves as an example, the committee will refuse to abide by that request, and will threaten the former First Daughter with a criminal contempt charge.
