Sen. Graham Has a Sobering Reminder About Kavanaugh Accusations

The Kavanaugh hearings have been an absolute circus since day one, as Democrats do everything they can to prevent the Trump-nominated judge from sitting on the Supreme Court.

It seemed ridiculous at first, considering they have neither the majority in the Senate or the House, yet, in a hail Mary attempt to somehow prevent the hearings, they pulled out one last dirty trick: sexual abuse allegations.

Now, this is not to say Christine Ford’s claims are not true. They seem doubtful and they are, unfortunately, virtually impossible to prove pending the discovery of some miraculous piece of evidence she seems to as of yet be unaware of.

But this is to say that the Democrats are clearly milking the claims for all they’re worth, and quite obviously waited until the last moment to drop them for political reasons.

Now, Ford is saying she doesn’t want to testify until the FBI has investigated her accusations against Kavanaugh, which can serve no other purpose than to delay the confirmation further.

This is what Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told Martha MacCallum on Fox Tuesday evening, reminding us all that these allegations would be worthless in a court of law, and that it’s preposterous for a private citizen to request that the FBI investigate state crimes that are over 30 years old.

The Daily Caller reports:

“In terms of the calls for an FBI investigation, is the FBI in the business of opening investigations into things that are so far in the past that there’s no way that they would be able to proceed toward charges on that issue?” Martha MacCallum asked.

“Well, again, you don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure out what’s going on here. If you think this was serious enough for the FBI to get involved, why didn’t you raise it July 30 when you first heard about it?” Graham responded. “Why did you sit on it for weeks, over a month, and do nothing about it? Why now do you want an FBI investigation to delay this past the midterms?”

The Wall Street Journal’s Kimberly Strassel pointed out that the Democrats are misleading the public in regards to what role the FBI plays in investigating these allegations.

“This could not be prosecuted in any court in the land,” he continued. “[The FBI] doesn’t investigate state crime, they don’t investigate things you can’t prosecute. They do background checks.”

Indeed they do, and they’ve already conducted several on Kavanaugh in his various high-level court positions. There’s nothing they can find that they haven’t already–Christine Ford may be a victim and she may not be, but it certainly is suspicious how convenient it is that she’s been thrown into the center of Kavanaugh’s nomination at just the right time and may very well successfully prevent it from going forward.
