Senate Democrats have created a secret plan supposedly to save us all from “Russian bots”

A leaked memo circulating among Senate Democrats contains a host of bonkers authoritarian proposals. Mussolini and Stalin would be proud.

Taking their cue from Mussolini and Stalin, the Democrat Party has drawn up a new plan for a full government take over of the Internet in order to ban all conservative speech.

The Senate Democrats have created this secret plan supposedly to save us all from “Russian bots,” but the real purpose is to ban all speech they disagree with and so that they can control every word you see, every song you hear, and every video you watch on the Internet.

According to Reason.com:

A leaked memo circulating among Senate Democrats contains a host of bonkers authoritarian proposals for regulating digital platforms, purportedly as a way to get tough on Russian bots and fake news. To save American trust in “our institutions, democracy, free press, and markets,” it suggests, we need unprecedented and undemocratic government intervention into online press and markets, including “comprehensive (GDPR-like) data protection legislation” of the sort enacted in the E.U.

Titled “Potential Policy Proposals for Regulation of Social Media and Technology Firms,” the draft policy paper—penned by Sen. Mark Warner and leaked by an unknown source to Axios—the paper starts out by noting that Russians have long spread disinformation, including when “the Soviets tried to spread ‘fake news’ denigrating Martin Luther King” (here he fails to mention that the Americans in charge at the time did the same). But NOW IT’S DIFFERENT, because technology.

“Today’s tools seem almost built for Russian disinformation techniques,” Warner opines. And the ones to come, he assures us, will be even worse.

Remember how Russian murderer Joseph Stalin slowly erased from the Soviet history books all of the people who helped him create the Soviet Republic? Eventually, Stalin became the only “hero” left in the USSR’s “history” books. He did this to eliminate all trace of the others who were part of Soviet history so that he could control every aspect of life of the Russian people.

This is what Sen. Warner aspires to do.

Reason continues:

Other proposals include more disclosure requirements for online political speech, more spending to counter supposed cybersecurity threats, more funding for the Federal Trade Commission, a requirement that companies’ algorithms can be audited by the feds (and this data shared with universities and others), and a requirement of “interoperability between dominant platforms.”

The paper also suggests making it a rule that tech platforms above a certain size must turn over internal data and processes to “independent public interest researchers” so they can identify potential “public health/addiction effects, anticompetitive behavior, radicalization,” scams, “user propagated misinformation,” and harassment—data that could be used to “inform actions by regulators or Congress.”

And—of course— these include further revisions to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, recently amended by Congress to exclude protections for prostitution-related content. A revision to Section 230 could provide the ability for users to demand takedowns of certain sorts of content and hold platforms liable if they don’t abide, it says, while admitting that “attempting to distinguish between true disinformation and legitimate satire could prove difficult.”

This is completely anti-American. Warner wants nothing less than 100% control of what you are allowed to put on the Internet.

But this is what Democrats want. They are pining for the days when they fully controlled all media like they did in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. And they will do nothing less than gut the First Amendment to get that power back.

President Trump Issues Warning About Pelosi Impeachment Logic; Says It Could Be Used To ‘Routinely Attack Future Presidents’

On Thursday, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi held her weekly press conference where she announced that the House Judiciary Committee would be going forward with the drafting of articles of impeachment against President Trump. The articles of impeachment are part of the final steps of the process before sending impeachment to the House for a full vote. President Trump responded to the news of the articles being drafted by noting on Twitter that the kind of logic being employed by Democrats like Pelosi could potentially be used against presidents in the future. Here’s more from The Washington Examiner: “The Do Nothing, Radical Left Democrats have just announced that they are going to seek to Impeach me over NOTHING. They already gave up on the ridiculous Mueller ‘stuff,’ so now they hang their hats on two totally appropriate (perfect) phone calls with the Ukrainian President,” he said. “This will mean that the beyond important and seldom used act of Impeachment will be used routinely to attack future Presidents. That is not what our Founders had in mind. The good thing is that the Republicans have NEVER been more united. We will win!” Trump added. https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1202606537342160896 No specific timeline for the articles, nor what exactly they would contain were brought up during Pelosi’s press conference, but Democrats are hoping for a chance to vote on them before the House adjourns on December 20.

Democratic Congressman Hints At Possible Continuous Impeachment Efforts, Says ‘We Can Impeach Again’

Texas Rep. Al Green is not helping to dispel the notions held by conservatives that the whole impeachment inquiry House Democrats have launched against President Trump is a coup designed to help them get revenge for Hillary’s loss in 2016 with his latest comments suggesting impeachment could be a continuous process. On Thursday, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi made an announcement stating the House Judiciary Committee would be drafting up articles of impeachment against the president as part of the final steps before taking the measure to the House for a full vote. If the House succeeds in voting to impeach President Trump, the process will then head over to the Republican-controlled Senate. As of right now, there’s very little support available to actually convict Trump of any wrongdoing, so chances are high that impeachment will fail in the Senate. Here’s more from The Washington Examiner: Green claimed that shouldn’t dissuade Democrats from moving rapidly toward impeachment. During a speech on the House floor on Thursday, Green reminded his colleagues that there is “no limit” to the number of times they can impeach the president. “The Constitution allows a president to be impeached more than once,” Green explained. “If we impeach now, or at some time in the near future, for one issue that we dearly should, then we find later that the president has other issues that merit impeachment, we can impeach again. There is no limit on the number of times.” Green noted that he doesn’t believe Trump should be impeached “needlessly,” despite having forced a vote on impeachment three times before the current effort to remove Trump following his controversial phone call with Ukrainian leaders. Green further stated, “Every time I call it to the attention of this House, there was purpose and reason behind it,…
