Senate Dems Put Forth Resolution To Deem Coronavirus Term 'Chinese Virus' Racist

The political correctness police who work within the United States Senate is working hard to take trivial, non-important matters, and blow them up into a big deal, the old “making a mountain out of a molehill” line of thinking, concerning terms used to refer to the coronavirus.

California Sen. Kamala Harris, a failed Democratic presidential candidate, along with several of her party colleagues, have put forth a resolution to condemn terms for the coronavirus like “Chinese virus” as racist. Yes, that’s right. If you dare to label this virus after the location from which it came, you will be given your official racist identification card to mark you for public shaming.

That’s sarcasm, of course, but hey, they might take it as a suggestion.

Here’s more from Washington Examiner:

President Trump and many others have used the terms “Wuhan Virus” and “Chinese Virus” to describe the coronavirus pandemic that has killed more than 5 million people worldwide. In a Wednesday Senate resolution co-sponsored by Hawaii Sen. Mazie Hirono, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and 23 other Democratic senators, lawmakers called on the chamber to formally condemn the terms “Wuhan Virus,” “Chineses Virus,” and “Kung-Flu” as racist.

“The use of anti-Asian terminology and rhetoric related to COVID–19, such as the ‘Chinese Virus,’ ‘Wuhan Virus,’ and ‘Kung-flu,’ have perpetuated anti-Asian stigma,” the bill stated. “Since January 2020, there has been a dramatic increase in reports of hate crimes and incidents against those of Asian descent.”

The legislation in question points to a study that has found 400 instances of what they call “anti-Asian discrimination” directly related to the coronavirus pandemic between Feb. 9, 2020 and March 7, 2020. The bill goes on to cite the WHO’s condemnation of the virus’s location as a label for the sickness.

And yet no one has a problem with the Spanish Flu? You’d think they’d want to retroactively remove that term and cleanse it from history so as not to offend anyone of that heritage. Guess not.

They seem pretty selective in who they want to attack regarding the usage of this term. Pretty much the only people who use it are Trump supporters, or so they claim. So couldn’t this whole resolution be seen as yet another attack on the president and his base?

If some folks have truly been saying racist things to Chinese folk over this virus, then those people are morons of the highest order. The individuals responsible for the Chinese virus are not the citizens of that country, but their communist leadership. Put the blame where it truly belongs.
