Senator Durbin Tries to Blame GOP for Chicago's Gun Violence, James Woods Sets Him Straight Instantly
The Democrats have a very handy trick they employ when it comes to gun violence.
Since the policies the implement in areas they control tend to lead to more, not less gun violence, rather than wake up and realize how damaging gun control can be to violent, inner-city areas plagued by crime, they happily draw upon these crime statistics to….drumroll please…BLAME THE GOP.
Think about it.
While the majority of mass shootings claim victims of color, in urban areas, these are the shootings that rarely make the news. Yet, whenever there is a high-profile random shooting at a high school in the suburbs, Democrats have no problem drawing on these statistics of gun violence to convince us that America has a gun violence problem…when every other day of the year they’re advocating for lighter sentencing and railing against institutional racism in the justice system.
To put it simply: they complain about inner-city gun violence as it if it’s happening in the suburbs and at the same time advocate for policy that perpetuates gun violence in the inner city.
And its somehow all Republicans’ fault, right?
This was the logic, obviously, when Dick Durbin attempted to blame the GOP for Chicago’s notorious gun violence when everyone with half a brain knows the GOP has very little influence in Chicago:
This is heartbreaking. Chicago has lost far too many aspiring young people to senseless gun violence. When will Republicans in Congress finally decide to act? https://t.co/4dCk5YODwZ

Yeah, James Woods wasn’t about to let him get away with this outrageous statement:
Dear Nimrod, #Chicago has been ruled by #Democrats for 87 years. It has the strictest gun control laws in America. Stop talking. You are an embarrassment. https://t.co/uTKYcXnXSZ

He is correct, as the Daily Wire elaborates:
Chicago’s last Republican Mayor was William Hale Thompson, who served from 1927-1931.

Checkmate, Sen. Durbin.
