Sidney Powell Says Capitol Riot Part of Plan to Have Justice Alito Intervene in Election
As we dig ever deeper into the story behind January 6th, (and the 2020 election overall), we tend to find ourselves with more questions than answers.
For example, earlier this week it was discovered that at least one person who stormed the Capitol that day was working with the FBI, relaying information back to the Bureau in real time – a direct contradiction of a mainstream talking point regarding the insurrection.
Now, in a stunning revelation, attorney Sidney Powell is claiming that the Capitol riot was planned as a way to stall the certification of the electoral college vote, in hopes of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito possibly filing an injunction that would keep Biden out of office.
Powell made the remarks on Friday’s episode of The Stew Peters Show. The comments were shared on Twitter by Ron Filipkowski.
According to Filipkowski, Powell’s interview “suggests that the purpose of the insurrection was to DELAY the electoral college certification to give [Justice Samuel Alito] time to intervene on this legal challenge. But, Powell says they didn’t anticipate Pelosi reconvening Congress that day.”
Powell said […] her team was filing a “12th Amendment constitutional challenge to the process the Congress was about to use.”
“Justice Alito was our circuit justice for that,” she recalled. “And we were suing the vice president to follow the 12th Amendment as opposed to the Electoral College Act.”
Powell claims that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi became aware of the plan and promptly reconvened Congress in order to curtail these efforts.
“Everything broke loose and she really had to speed up reconvening Congress to get the vote going before Justice Alito might have issued an injunction to stop it all, which is what should have happened,” the attorney said.
Powell has been a key player in the “stop the steal” movement over the last several months, and has been sued for defamation by Dominion Voting Systems over her efforts.
