Sobbing Avenatti Gets 30 Months For Nike Extortion Attempt

The gaudy, loud lawyer was quite subdued during his sentencing.

Michael Avenatti

Disgraced attorney Michael Avenatti was a frequent figure on television news just a few scant years ago, as he stepped out in front of his client Stormy Daniels, hoping to steal away whatever attention he could from the aging adult film star.

Avenatti was a keen orator, and, at that point technically still a lawyer, and he saw an opportunity to insert himself into the political world by taking on then-president Donald Trump over some alleged hush money payments he made to the aforementioned Daniels.

But, as lasting fame slipped through his grip, Avenatti turned to extortion, attempting to con sneaker giant Nike out of millions of dollars.

Michael Avenatti, the brash attorney who had been a leading foe of then-President Donald Trump, was sentenced Thursday to 30 months in prison for a brazen, botched scheme to extort athletic apparel giant Nike out of up to $25 million.

That sentence was much lower than the nine years that was the bottom of the sentencing range suggested by federal guidelines, and not anywhere close to “a substantial” prison term sought by federal prosecutors for the California lawyer.

The normally pompous Avenatti was subside, even sobbing in court during the hearing.

“I alone have destroyed my career, my relationships and my life. And there is no doubt I need to pay,” Avenatti, 50, tearfully told Manhattan federal court Judge Paul Gardephe before he was sentenced.

“I am truly sorry for all of the pain I caused to Mr. Franklin and others,” Avenatti said, referring to his former client Gary Franklin, an amateur basketball coach.

Stormy Daniels had also accused Avenatti of siphoning millions of her book royalties into his own pocket, which was perhaps the public’s first inclination as to just how shady the attorney could be.

A new conservative children’s book is looking to keep the woke out of story time with a new anti-transgender theme. Brae Books has published its new book for the kiddos entitled, Elephants are Not Birds, that tells kids that you are what you are biologically. According to the website, Brave Books offers parents “a conservative alternative to the current cultural activism that our children are being taught in schools, in the entertainment they watch and the books they read.” Company CEO Trent Talbot said he was driven to create the new book line when he noticed that “that there is a real war going on for the hearts and minds of our kids. And everywhere I looked was propaganda,” the New York Post reported. Per the paper: An ophthalmologist by trade, Talbot pointed to Ibram X. Kendi’s picture book, “Antiracist Baby,” which urges parents and kids to “make equity a reality,” as content that needs a counterpoint. “Once my eyes were open I was seeing it everywhere and I couldn’t unsee it,” Talbot said. “I thought there was a need for books that could help parents teach the values they hold dear.” Brave Books’ first offering is called “Elephants are Not Birds,” the story of an elephant named Kevin who likes to sing, and then is convinced by a vulture — named Culture — that he warbles so well, he must actually be a bird. Brave Books also made the decision to to refuse to do business with Amazon.com and will sell their wares only on their website. The Post added: Other planned books include, “The Island of Free Ice Cream” by former OAN anchor Jack Posobiec, which will tackle Communism. The company is also courting Congressman Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas), to write “Fame, Blame, and the Raft of Shame” about…

WATCH: Top 10 Foot-In-Mouth Moments From Joe Biden’s CNN Town Hall

Biden’s CNN town hall answers were strange. They were a combination of dementia affected, stupidity, callousness, and/or just plain lying

Last week, CNN’s Town Hall with Joe Biden was an absolute dumpster fire, so bad that even their commentators admit it. CNN host Don Lemon, the worst host of a network filled with really lousy hosts, starts off by calling Joe Biden the “Big Guy,”…and it all kind of went downhill from there. As Lemon was calling Biden ‘the big guy,” dementia Joe looked as if he didn’t know where he was or who he was talking to. https://twitter.com/townhallcom/status/1418017581835894789?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1418017581835894789%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fclashdaily.com%2F2021%2F07%2Ftop-10-foot-in-mouth-moments-from-bidens-dumpster-fire-presidential-townhall-video%2F Here are the top ten really strange Biden moments that followed. 1. Biden told a restauranteur to raise wages. While government shutdowns and restrictions caused businesses to close early in the pandemic, it has been the overly generous federal subsidies to unemployment that have kept people at home rather than going back to their jobs. This has been a particular problem in the foodservice industry, which often has lower wages because it operates on razor-thin margins. https://youtu.be/HsXF1G0pdZ4 2. “I Don’t Care If You Think I’m Satan Reincarnated, The Fact Is You Can’t Look At That Television And Say Nothing Happened On [January] The 6th.” I don’t know anybody who believes Biden is Satan. Lots of people believe he is a lousy president. The theology of that statement is atrocious for a “devout Catholic.” It’s the sentiment that is the issue here. Clearly, something did happen on January 6 — a riot. And it was much less violent and destructive than anything that had been occurring in Portland at the federal courthouse or the nightly George Floyd/BLM/1619 Project riots all over the U.S. during the summer of 2020. https://twitter.com/CNNPolitics/status/1418027929993420804?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1418027929993420804%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fclashdaily.com%2F2021%2F07%2Ftop-10-foot-in-mouth-moments-from-bidens-dumpster-fire-presidential-townhall-video%2F 3. Biden Admits He’s Going After Guns. Violent crime is on the rise, and it’s not because of guns. It’s because Democratic Party-run cities aren’t fighting crime, are defunding police, and aren’t backing…
