STRANGER THAN FICTION: ‘Law and Order’ Mashes Ilhan Omar into Covington Catholic Scandal

This is lazy writing at its very finest.

Day in and day out, writers in Hollywood work to create arcing storylines and thoughtful dialogue that we may hear passively while we’re cooking dinner.

All of the work that goes into weekly television occurs ad nauseam, no matter the reality of the those producing it.  The show must go on, essentially, and there are times in which writers get a little bit lazy.

Some of television’s most profound pieces of real estate fall victim to such concerns week after week, and these lazy and uninspired bits often conflate themselves into a loss of viewership.  It is this concern that has Law and Order:  SVU staff worried this week.

NBC crime procedural Law & Order: Special Victims Unit featured a “ripped from the headlines” theme in its latest episode, which smeared the Covington Catholic kids by pitting them against an Ilhan Omar-styled character who is portrayed as a hero.

The plot centered on a poor, put-upon Islamic city politician being confronted by a red ballcap-wearing crowd of young men who scream at her and taunt her. But the episode also throws in a big dollop of male oppression and lesbianism for good measure, Newsbusters reported.

The Law & Order: SVU  episode entitled, “Assumptions,” opens with a pair of teenaged boys running away from a vandalized mosque in which we soon see that Muslim Councilwoman Nahla Nasar (Nazneen Contractor) has been raped.

The story, which is an amalgam of two real life American situations, was undoubtedly meant to invoke the emotions of the politically-savvy US populace in order to sell commercials on NBC.

This monetization of the American outrage machine is something worth monitoring, especially as we slip closer and closer to the possibility of a constitutional crisis…at least according to the liberal left.

MSNBC Host Says Election Skeptics Have a ‘Lack of Masculinity’

The gender-charged language revealed a dirty little secret about the left’s gender wars, too.

Over the years, there have been innumerable ways in which the left-leaning mainstream media has chosen to insult those with whom they disagree, sometimes subtly, but often with the brute force and all the grace of a three-legged alligator wearing a blindfold.

This bombastic bias only turned more heated during Donald Trump’s first term as President, as the volume of the Commander in Chief dared pundits and talking heads to try and keep up.

Now, as things turn downright despicable on MSNBC, host Nicolle Wallace took a very cheap shot at a very large segment of the US population.

Reporter Jacob Soboroff said, “Governor Newsom saying that the Republicans are trying to dismantle democracy and that he will accept the results of the election win or lose, full stop, a very different message than we heard from Larry Elder yesterday.”

He added, “This is straight out of the Donald Trump playbook. You heard the governor refer to that as well. Is there a Republican icon in California that’s done this? I don’t believe so. Clearly, there is one in national American politics, the former president of the United States.”

Then came the shocker:

Wallace said, “You’re right. I worked for Dan Lungren, who was behind who never questioned the election results. I came up in politics in California working for Republicans who faced long odds, and not a single one of them ever debased the state’s voters. They never debased democracy itself. They were not sore losers. They were real men.”

She added, “I wonder, Jason Johnson if you can speak to the lack of masculinity in these male Republican candidates who can’t take a punch politically. They can’t win on the merits. They’re too weak and unpopular, so they cry foul, they cry rigged. It goes counter to all the over bogus machismo coming out of the sickest, most toxic elements of the political right.”

While Wallace’s unflinching decision to go low is shocking in and of itself, the fact that she would dare to use gender-charged language in front of the ultra-progressive MSNBC audience is surprising as well.

We know that Wallace meant to emasculate the GOP here, but she then chose to use the only language that could make her point so succinctly, and in doing so, she has unwillingly admitted that the left’s gender-language game is rigged for use only against those who they deem worth attacking.

Comedian Cancels Show at Venues That Require Proof of Vaccination

BOOM!

Published

In the United States today, there is but one major cultural argument that is considered universal:  Should coronavirus vaccines be mandatory in certain situations?

This has been an ugly argument over the course of the last several months, with the anti-vaccine crowd claiming their inalienable bodily sovereignty over the progressives’ precautionary bent.

The federal government is just now beginning to wade into the debate, with US President Joe Biden demanding that all federal workers be vaccinated, (with a few exceptions), and by instilling new vaccine and testing rules for any private employer with more than 100 people on the books.

But, largely, vaccine mandates continue to exist in the realm of small and medium sized businesses who are requiring their customers to prove their jab-status.

One of the nation’s most well-known standup comics is now taking a stand against this discrimination of the unvaccinated.

Comedian and “Saturday Night Live” alum Jim Breuer said in a Facebook Live over the weekend that he will not be performing at venues that require proof of Covid vaccination for guests.

“Two quick updates on shows that you may think you may be getting tickets to or you already have tickets to: The Wellmont Theater in New Jersey — not doing it,” Breuer said in the 22 minute Facebook live.

“Also the Royal Oak Theater in Michigan, due to the segregation of them forcing people to show up with vaccinations … I am also not doing those shows,” said Breuer, 54.

The comedian wasn’t joking around, either.

“I know I’m going to sacrifice a lot of money, but I’m not going to be enslaved to the system or money,” the comedian added.

Breuer said getting vaccinated was “a choice,” and he didn’t care what his fans might have to say about his decision to cancel his shows.

He said patrons were being “forced” and “bribed” before they could attend shows.

“If you have anything else to say, I honestly don’t care,” Breuer said. “Due to, I have to stick to my morals, I have to sick to what i know is right.”

The news comes just days after fellow standup comic Patton Oswalt took a turn in the opposite direction, saying that he would not play any shows in which the venues could not guarantee that the audience was fully vaccinated.
