Ted Cruz Plays into Internet Joke with LITERALLY 'Cryptic' Halloween Tweet

When it comes to our modern world, what with all of the hate and vitriol spewing about, it can be incredibly refreshing to see politicians not take themselves too seriously.

And, to be fair, I never thought that I would be expressing that sentiment when it came to Ted Cruz, but the former republican candidate for President has proven me wrong again.

As Cruz is locked in a battle for his Senate seat with young, hip liberal Beto O’Rourke, many were wondering if the elder statesmen would attempt to lighten his mood a bit to compete with the rigors of youth.  That hasn’t been the case so far, as Cruz has relied mostly on his staunch conservatism and his congressional record to push back against O’Rourke’s inexperience and heavy-handed liberalism.

For Halloween, however, Cruz did get a bit silly, tweeting a photo of an encrypted letter written by the infamous Zodiac Killer.

This is hilarious, of course, because internet pranksters have continually proposed that Cruz himself could be the so-far-elusive killer in a stunt rife with absurdist humor.

Over the past few years, there have been several conspiracy theories and jokes which allege Cruz could be the Zodiac Killer, due to the similarity between a police sketch and Cruz’s image.

Last October, Cruz also posted the ciphered letter ahead of his debate with Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT), which went viral — gaining over 89,000 likes and 51,000 comments.

Given the glut of tumult that our nation is facing in the days remaining before the pivotal midterm elections, it is certainly nice to see a sense of humor can still exist in such an environment.
