'This Is Not On the Level!' Chicago Dem Mayor PISSED OFF Jussie Smollett Walks Free

Linkedin Share

Former “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett went to extraordinary lengths to stage a fake hate crime against himself.

He lied to law enforcement. He lied to America.

Now, he walks away scot-free – albeit, he’ll have to serve some community service time (facepalm, SMH).

Smollett is the definition of “privilege” in America, but don’t expect the left to mention that anytime soon.

What’s wild is that Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, a former top aide to Barack Obama, is ticked off.

And he’s making that abundantly clear…

From The Blaze:

A visibly angry Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Tuesday blasted the decision to drop all charges against “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett, who was accused by police of orchestrating a fake hate crime attack against himself to advance his career.

“From top to bottom, this is not on the level,” Emanuel told reporters, adding “there needs to be a level of accountability throughout the system, and this sends an unambiguous message that there is no accountability, and that is wrong.”

The mayor also called the dropped charges a “whitewash of justice” and that the grand jury, which handed down 16 charges against Smollett, “could not have been clearer.”

Smollett isn’t off the hook just yet.

There’s a chance he still could actually serve hard time.

We’ll have to wait and see.

It looks like Michelle Obama’s former chief of staff might have interfered with the investigation.

From NBC Chicago:

The Chicago police union’s president alleges that the county’s top prosecutor interfered with the investigation of “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett before recusing herself and wants the Justice Department to determine if she broke any laws.

Several media outlets in Chicago report that Fraternal Order of Police President Kevin Graham wrote the Justice Department following reports that Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx asked Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson to let the FBI investigate Smollett’s allegations that he was attacked by two masked men after the former chief of staff to former first lady Michelle Obama informed Foxx that Smollett’s family had concerns about the probe.

The police kept the investigation and Foxx recused herself. Her office charged Smollett with lying to police.

Reactions:

In exchange for no jail time, make Smollett do a PSA admitting he’s a dipshit

The Jussie Smollett indictment includes one count per crime alleged in his two initial contacts with police. So, one count for saying he was attacked, one count for the description, one count for allegations he was hit with bleach, etc.

Jussie Smollett was indicted on 16 felony counts related to his hoax attack…

I’m starting to think he’s not gonna get that raise he wanted.

In 2007, Smollett “provided false information” to police after receiving a DUI.

Senators Kamala Harris (CA) and Cory Booker (NJ) are both running for president. The chances that either person secures the Democrat nomination are slim – at best.

After hearing that Smollett was the “victim” of a “hate crime,” both Booker and Harris rushed to slam the “attack” as a “modern day lynching.”

Harris is at a loss for words when confronted by a reporter asking about Smollett:

Check out Booker:

Jussie said he was baffled that people didn’t believe him. Apparently, he’s just not that good of an actor, huh?

If Smollett was being written off the show prior to this insane “hate crime,” what will happen to him now?

Will social justice warriors voice their support? Will he maybe get his own spinoff?
