Trump Camp Slams Social Media Giant Twitter After Labeling Biden Video ‘Manipulated’

Published

The Trump campaign is none too happy with social media giant Twitter after they labeled a video featuring Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden making the mother of all gaffes as “manipulated media,” claiming the video was “doctored and deceptively edited.”

A letter was sent to Twitter from the campaign letting them know that they are extremely displeased with this and defending the video as being unaltered.

“The Biden campaign is scared as hell that voters will see the flood of unedited and embarrassing verbal stumbles that will continue go viral if ‘Status Quo Joe’ is the nominee,” Trump campaign rapid response director Andrew Clark told Fox News. “Twitter shouldn’t be an enforcement arm of Joe Biden’s campaign strategy, but if they choose to police every video clip they must hold his own campaign to the same standard.”

The confrontation began this weekend when Trump communications director Dan Scavino tweeted an edited version of a Biden speech in which the former vice president appears to deliver a muddled and inadvertent endorsement of Trump. Scavino’s clip, which the president later reposted, did not alter any of Biden’s words, but it cut off before the conclusion of Biden’s sentence at a rally in St. Louis. Conservatives called the video an obvious attempt to highlight Biden’s verbal gaffes, and argued that no one would reasonably mistake it for a genuine Biden endorsement.

“Understandably, the Biden campaign has a strategic interest in intimidating social media companies into suppressing true and embarrassing video evidence of Joe Biden’s continued inability to communicate coherently—a sad truth that has been publicly noted by Democrats and media figures alike,” Trump campaign chief operating officer Michael Glassner wrote in the missive to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, general counsel Vijaya Gadde, and public policy director Carlos Monje.

“Still, it appears that many people employed by Big Tech corporations in Silicon Valley are assisting the Biden campaign by instituting a special ‘Biden protection rule’ that effectively censors and silences legitimate political speech Biden’s campaign and its supporters do not like,” he added in the letter, obtained by Fox News.

Glassner went on to say in the letter that he is “formally requesting that Twitter apply it’s new ‘manipulated media’ label to a doctored and deceptively edited video tweeted by the Biden campaign less than a week ago.”

What, exactly is Glassner referring to in this statement? The reference is to a video released on March 3 that features a whole bunch of clips taken out of context and “manipulates audio and video of President Trump in order to mislead Americans and give a false impression.”

The video, Glassner points out, contains two clips “spliced together to fabricate a quote and give viewers the false impression that he called the coronavirus a ‘hoax,'” a claim that the non-partisan International Fact-Checking Network has previously debunked. The president in fact called Democrats’ response to the coronavirus “their new hoax.”

Additionally, the Biden video effectively repeats a false claim the former vice president himself made in his campaign launch video, asserting through selective editing that the president called white supremacists in Charlottesville, Va. “very fine people.” That assertion, although widely made in progressive circles, is untrue; the president was referring to protesters on both sides of the issue of whether Confederate statues should be removed from public places as “very fine people.”

Look, it seems like Twitter is really trying hard to defend Biden while not offering that same level of protection to others who don’t share the same political leanings as the Democratic Party.

That is obviously pushing an agenda and could, perhaps, be seen as a form of election interference. Isn’t that something that deeply offends the radical left? After all, they spent several years investigating Trump for that same kind of interference.

Guess it’s okay to do that sort of thing when it benefits your own party.

Border Governor Trounces Biden by Declaring State of Emergency

There’s no denying it anymore.

For many Republicans, there is a great fear that the White House is either in denial that a humanitarian crisis is occurring on the southern border, or that they are actively looking to tamp down the reality of the situation to save political face. In either case, many within the GOP are unwilling to wait any longer for the federal government to take the issue seriously, and are simply taking matters into their own hands this week. In Arizona… Gov. Doug Ducey will dispatch National Guard troops to the southern border in response to a recent increase in migrants being apprehended by the Border Patrol, his office announced Tuesday. The Republican leader also declared a state of emergency in four border counties — Cochise, Pima, Santa Cruz and Yuma — as well as in Maricopa and Pinal. “The U.S. Border Patrol is overwhelmed. Local law enforcement and mayors are calling out for help,” Ducey said in a video outlining his rationale. “Citizens in our border communities are concerned for their safety, and nonprofits, left to pick up the pieces of broken federal policies, are strained … and yet we still haven’t received an adequate response from the (Joe) Biden administration.” Ducey was quite perturbed with the response from the Biden team. The governor for weeks has held Biden solely responsible for the migrant surge, pointing to the Democrat’s decision to reverse a series of aggressive immigration policies implemented by his predecessor. During a visit to the U.S.-Mexico border last month, Ducey blasted Biden and his administration for being “totally divorced from the reality on the ground.” Vice President Kamala Harris has been tapped to lead the effort to rein in the migrant crisis, but has yet to either visit the border or hold a press conference detailing her work.

Capitol Riot Investigation: Official Commanded Officer to Target Anti-Trump Individuals

The complex investigation into the Capitol riots continues to surprise us.

There is still a great deal that we don’t know about the events of January 6th, as an enormous investigation into the incident continues to uncover terrifying new angles in the case. The FBI has a complex and gargantuan task ahead of them, as they attempt to separate the wheat from the chaff. Thousands of hours of social media must be pored over still, and there are undoubtedly still arrests yet to be made.  Then will come the trials, which could, in turn, ignite new probes and arrests still. One of the most worrisome parts of the probe has come at the expense of the Capitol Police, who were seen on camera clearly giving a wide berth to a deadly mob.  Some officers were even seen opening barricades for the berserkers, while others took selfies with them. Now, an unbelievable bit of audio recorded during the attack is raising major concerns. A Capitol Police official radioed units outside of the building on the morning of Jan. 6 and told them only to scout for anti-Trump troublemakers — not pro-Trump protesters, according to Rep. Zoe Lofgren, who described what she said were details of an internal investigation conducted in the aftermath of the mob attack. Lofgren (D-Calif.) revealed the finding while she questioned Capitol Police Inspector General Michael Bolton, who appeared before the House Administration Committee Wednesday to testify about security failures that precipitated the Jan. 6 attack. Lofgren, who chairs the panel, described the findings as she asked him whether he had read the internal investigation reports. Lofgren said the department’s Office of Professional Responsibility was reviewing information that a radio transmission to “all outside units’ attention” that they should not be “looking for any pro-Trump in the crowd,” according to Lofgren. She added they were “only looking for any anti-Trump.” There…
