Trump Rally Appeared to Have Not-So-Hidden Message, Stoking Speculation

The future could very well be a rocky road for Donald Trump, but when has that deterred him in the past?

In fact, can we think of anyone whose experience turning lemons into lemonade is more practiced?  Donald Trump is so good at converting his situation from bad to booming that he even found ways to make bankruptcy lucrative.  Say what you will about his methods; the man gets results, no matter what.

And with this sort of malleability, you would think that he’d just be forthright about his plans for the 2024 election.  The entire nation is under the impression that he’s going to run again, but Trump and his team have decided to hold off on making any official announcement just yet, likely to be able to observe how the dust settles on the 2022 midterms.

But Trump continues to make it perfectly clear that he’ll be back in the mix…he’s just not saying the exact words yet.

Former President Trump’s return this weekend to Iowa, the state where caucuses for half a century have kicked off the presidential nominating calendar, sparked more speculation that the former president will launch a 2024 bid to try and return to the White House.

While the former president for months has repeatedly teased another White House run, Trump avoided such language during a nearly two-hour speech in front of a large crowd of supporters at a Saturday evening rally at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.

While Trump vowed to “take back America,” he didn’t make any specific flirtations about launching another presidential bid.

The former President had a who’s-who of guests during the rally as well.

And more proof of his immense clout in the first caucus state – many of the state’s top Republican leaders – including Gov. Kim Reynolds, Sen. Chuck Grassley, Reps. Ashley Hinson and Mariannette Miller-Meeks, and state GOP chair Jeff Kaufmann – all spoke ahead of the president. Trump called Grassley back to the podium an hour into his speech, to endorse the 88-year old senator’s 2022 reelection and teased that an endorsement of Reynolds – who next year is seeking a second term as governor – is in the works.

While we may need to wait a while longer for anything official from the Trump team, rallies like the one we witnessed in Iowa this week seem to be telling us all that we need to know for the moment.
