Trump Responds to Giuliani Bombshell, Reveals True Purpose of Cohen Payment to Porn Star
President Trump took to Twitter Thursday morning to respond to a bombshell revelation dropped by his lawyer, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who revealed that the president reimbursed his attorney Michael Cohen for a hush-money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels.
According to Trump, the money was given to stop what he claims are false allegations and went on to state that no campaign funds were used in the reimbursement.
The president put out a three-part tweet about the $130,000 Cohen paid to Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, to stay quiet in the weeks before the 2016 election about accusations of an affair.

Trump originally stated a month ago that he knew nothing about the $130,000 payment, but Giuliani revealed he did indeed make the payment, but that he had no idea about the details of what the money was being used for, stating he thought it was for “unspecified expenses.”
Giuliani stressed that this was a personal payment and disputed any suggestion that it was an unreported campaign contribution.
“[Cohen] was trying to help the family. … I think he was just being a good lawyer,” he said.
“That money was not campaign money,” Giuliani also said on “Hannity” “It’s not campaign money. No campaign finance violation.”
Experts are torn as to the ramifications this particular revelation might have for Trump and his administration.
Richard L. Hansen, an expert in election law at the University of California, Irvine, stated that if the payment really is completely personal then there would be no violation of campaign finance law.
Michael Avenatti, attorney for Stormy Daniels, appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program stated that if Trump reimbursed Cohen, it’s a “crime” with “serious consequences.”
The danger of this comes from the fact that Cohen originally stated the entire payment to Daniels came out of his own money, but Giuliani’s account and Trump’s statement seemingly contradict Cohen’s story.
However, it’s important to note that the left has been on a witch hunt to find anything they can dig up to nail Trump to the wall and as we’ve seen time and again from the mainstream media, those who have dedicated themselves to bringing down the current administration are willing to lie to accomplish their ends.
Only time will tell if this situation will have a negative impact on the president.
