The disconnect between We The People and the mainstream media is rather apparent today.

To say that Donald Trump is one of the most embattled and controversial Presidents in modern history could be an understatement, but a new stat reveals exactly where the malarky ends and the success begins.

Far too much of our political knowledge comes from the mainstream media, this is known.  We spend hours each day perusing the avalanche of opinions that these pundits and entertainers that flow forth from the polito-sphere, all the while weighting these thoughts and soundbites against what we know of their messengers.  It’s the proverbial “grain of salt” anecdote come to life.

But are these talking heads speaking from a place of reality, or are they turning predictably salacious in order to generate attention and revenue?

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 48% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-nine percent (49%) disapprove.

The latest figures include 34% who Strongly Approve of the job Trump is doing and 39% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -5. (see trends).

Now for the kicker:  This puts President Trump in a statistical dead heat with former President Barack Obama at the same point in their presidency.

If this is an indication of anything, it’s that the media’s constant, dour attitude toward The Donald isn’t reflective of the public opinion on the 45th Commander in Chief.

Furthermore, these numbers exist after the release of the Mueller report, generated from an investigation that many democrats are having a difficult time accepting the findings of, further diluting the infotainment industry with anti-Trump opinions.

Schumer Calls Trump Budget Demand To Fight Coronavirus Inadequate, Requests $8.5B

Published

Senate Democrats don’t feel that President Trump’s $2.5 billion budget request to help fight against the spread of the coronavirus, instead seeking to pull in $8.5 billion. According to a top aide, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer “is preparing a detailed Senate request” to ask Congress for the money. Check out more from The Washington Examiner: “Expect Schumer’s request to be finalized this morning and sent to appropriators,” the aide said. Democrats on Tuesday dismissed the Trump administration’s $2.5 billion emergency funding request as far too low to prepare the nation to combat the virus in an adequate manner, given its spread in several countries. Democrats point out Congress appropriated $7 billion to battle the spread of the H1N1 virus 11 years ago. Congress is preparing to take up the supplemental spending measure soon, but the final number will have to be negotiated between Democrats and Republicans in both chambers. The House, which is currently run by Democrats, hasn’t yet proposed a spending number, but will take up the legislation first as usual. Republicans in the Senate actually agreed with their Democrat counterparts, stating the figure proposed by President Trump might be a bit too low. Regardless of where you stand on spending for this, the bottom line is that the coronavirus is pretty scary stuff and nations around the world need to be taking proper precautions to ensure the spread of this virus is contained until a vaccine and treatment can be created to prevent it from being a worldwide pandemic. The disease’s death toll has risen substantially since the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, and if we want to avoid seeing those kind of numbers here on American soil, it’s going to cost a pretty penny to put all the safety measures in place.

Hillary Clinton Says Disgraced Movie Mogul Harvey Weinstein ‘Contributed To Every Democrat’s Campaign’

Published

on

Former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton attempted to downplay the financial contributions disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein made to her political campaigns, stating that he contributed to every Democrat’s campaign. This, ladies and gentlemen, is “crooked Hillary” at her finest. Here’s more from The Washington Examiner: “He contributed to every Democrat’s campaign,” Clinton said when asked about the disgraced movie mogul’s contributions at the Berlin International Film Festival, where she was attending a screening of her new Hulu documentary. “He contributed to Barack Obama’s campaign, and John Kerry’s campaign and Al Gore’s campaign and everybody’s campaign.” “I don’t know whether that should chill anyone else from contributing to political campaigns, but it certainly should end the kind of behavior that he was just convicted for,” Clinton added. Weinstein, 67, was convicted Monday of first-degree sexual assault and third-degree rape in New York City. He faces a possible sentence of between five and 25 years. Weinstein also faces charges in Los Angeles after he was indicted in January, just after the first trial got underway. In that case, he is accused of raping one woman and sexually assaulting another in back-to-back nights during the week of the Oscar Awards in 2013. So how much money did Hillary get from Weinstein while running for Senate and the presidency? According to the Federal Election Commission data, about $55,000. Weinstein was also a huge contributor to Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns, donating around $72,000. Clinton recently defended the rather well-documented friendship she’s had with Weinsten, saying earlier this year that there was no way she could’ve known about the movie mogul’s predatory impulses and actions. “How could we have known? He raised money for me, for the Obamas, for Democrats in general. And that at the time was something that…
