Omar told the crowd of activists, joined in their goal of defunding Immigration and Customs Enforcement, about the story of how her family risked their lives to flee Somalia into Kenya, before eventually coming to the United States. She said that because of her experience, she will “cry” every time she sees a picture of a little girl “standing in the desert waiting to get processed in the country.”

Omar: “The difference between what is happening to some of those little girls and me is that I didn’t have a cage waiting for me. I had an open-armed people with moral clarity, awaiting us and saying ‘you’ve been through a lot, here’s your new home, you’re our new neighbor, you need water and you need food.’

In a recent interview, Omar goes as far as to suggest that Israel is not a democracy.

She also compares the Jewish state to Iran.

In 2016, Omar was elected to Congress. That year, nine Minnesota men were charged with plotting to join ISIS.

Omar, who has blasted Israel for a good long while and has been photographed with some questionable personalities, asked the judge to show “compassion.”

You read that correctly.

From Fox 9:

The 9 Minnesota men charged with planning to join ISIS are scheduled to be sentenced next week. Ahead of those court dates, 13 letters were sent to Judge Michael Davis in the case of defendant Abdirahman Yasin Daud, including a letter from state Rep. Ilhan Omar, who on Election Night became with first elected Somali-American lawmaker in the nation.

Rep. Omar asked Judge Davis for “compassion” and a “restorative approach to justice,” concluding that “this ruling can set a precedent and has the potential to be a landmark case in addressing extremism.”

In 2012, Ilhan Omar tweeted about the “evil doings of Israel.”

She may not have imagined she’d one day be elected to Congress, forced to answer for her words.

The original tweet:

Omar defended her tweet during an interview with PBS’ Christine Amanpour.

Far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) defended a past anti-Semitic remark she made on Twitter in an interview with PBS on Tuesday, saying those were “the only words I could think about expressing at that moment.”

Amanpour: “Can I just move on to something that’s generally a rite of passage for politicians in the United States, and that is to sort of profess a sort of fealty or at least pay homage to AIPAC, the pro-Israel PAC that is very, very prominent. Should Jewish Americans be worried about congresswoman Ilhan Omar or Rashida Tlaib because of the BDS movement, because of one of the tweets you made a long time ago, you were part of a new wave of Democrats not afraid to be critical of the government of Israel.

Amanpour, continued: “During the 2012 military offensive in Gaza, you tweeted, ‘Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel. How do you put that into context now and what do you say to American Jews?

Omar: “I remember when that was happening, watching tv and really feeling as if no other life was being impacted in this war and that really, those unfortunate words were the only words I could think about expressing at that moment. What is really important to me is that people recognize that there is a difference between criticizing a military action by a government that has exercised really oppressive policies and being offensive or attacky [sic] to particular people of faith.

Devin Nunes Says ‘Deep State’ Exists And Is ‘Much Worse Than Even I Thought It Ever Was’

Published

on

For the last several years we’ve been hearing the term “deep state” from folks in the Trump administration as well as from conservative pundits and news organizations in reference to a secret, shadowy group of leftist individuals within the government working against President Trump and his agenda for our country. Some folks have claimed this is all just a tinfoil hat kind of conspiracy theory, but if what Rep. Devin Nunes says is true, then not only is this network of resistance defectors real, it’s far worse than we could have imagined. Here’s more on this story from The Washington Examiner: California Rep. Devin Nunes, the ranking member on the House Intelligence Committee, spoke to Fox News host Sean Hannity on Wednesday about his efforts to raise awareness of bureaucracy within the federal government believed to be undermining President Trump. “One thing that I tell the American people every time that I speak and I go out on the road and I talk to people is that, remember, the deep state here is much worse than even I thought it ever was,” Nunes said in an interview along with Rep. Jim Jordan, an Ohio Republican, to talk about efforts to renew and reform parts of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. Trump’s distrust of people inside the White House and the federal government has intensified since his impeachment and acquittal, and he believes his government is filled with “snakes” he wants to be fired and replaced. Steps are already being taken to weed them out. A network of conservative activists led by Ginni Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, is helping compile detailed memos of disloyal government officials they want to be fired, while also finding Trump loyalists to replace them, according to Axios. According to Nunes, the…

Former GOP Presidential Candidate Herman Cain Slams Bernie Sanders; Says ‘Democratic Socialism Doesn’t Exist’

Published

on

Conservative pundit and former GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain recently went after Sen. Bernie Sanders, the current top contender for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination, stating that Sanders’ version of “Democratic socialism” does not exist. Sanders has had a bit of a rough week after making some rather controversial statements praising some of the “good” done by communist dictator Fidel Castro during his time in Cuba, comments he later doubled down on instead of backing away from. Here’s more on this from The Washington Examiner: “Bernie Sanders would have you believe that he is not like the socialists who have ruined Venezuela, Nicaragua, Cuba and — going back a few years — all of Eastern Europe,” Cain wrote in an opinion article in the Western Journal. “Oh sure, he agrees with many of their economic ideas, but don’t worry. He’s a democratic socialist, and that’s different.” Cain then said, “Democratic socialism doesn’t exist. That’s because it can’t exist, because socialism can’t take hold in a truly democratic system.” “In order for socialism to ‘work,’ the state has to take control of major industries like health care, energy and manufacturing,” he wrote. “It has to confiscate massive amounts of private wealth. It has to control the means of production and distribution. It has to control wages and prices. It has to monopolize things like higher education.” Sanders has been riding high off victories in New Hampshire and Nevada and has stated that he believes Democratic socialism will lead to political and economic freedom for people in every community. The Vermont senator has accused President Trump and others on the right side of the political spectrum of fear mongering concerning his socialist views and policies, particularly when it comes to the issues of healthcare, the economy, and climate change. The fact that…
