WATCH: Democratic Senator Doesn't Understand That Undocumented Immigrants Have Broken Federal Law
There’s no test to be a Senator. Apparently, anyone can be elected if they campaign well enough. Knowledge of the basic legal structure or key points of major issues are clearly not required.
This was demonstrated in a facepalm-worthy manner today during an immigration hearing in which an ICE official actually had to explain to a Democrat Senator that illegal immigrants have, you know, broken Federal Law.
That’s what makes them….illegal.
You can use all the euphemisms you want, they’ve still broken the law.
Why, in the name of all that is holy and sensible, do any of us have to be explaining this right now?
The Daily Wire reports that Sen. Maize Hirono (D-HI) tried to appeal to emotion when addressing Matthew T. Albence, Executive Associate Director for Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) of ICE on Tuesday, and ended up making a complete fool of herself.
“Mr. Albence, would you send your children to FRCs?” Hirono asked.
Advertisement - story continues below“Again, I think we’re missing the point,” Albence replied. “These individuals are there because they have broken a law. There has to be a process.”
“They have broken a law but only as deemed so by the president with his –” Hirono tried to claim.
“No ma’am,” Albence fired back. “They are there for violation of Title 8 of the U.S. Nationality Act. Okay. U.S.C. 1325. That’s illegal entry is both a criminal and civil violation. They are in those FRCs pending the outcome of that civil immigration process. They have broken the law. “
After continuing to struggle grasping the basic concept that illegal aliens have broken U.S. immigration laws, Hirono said she was “confused.”
