WATCH: Did This CNN Analyst Just Call for a Coup Against Trump?
I believe the term is “deep state”, sir, and they’re way ahead of you.
Trump’s meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin have been something between a dream come true and a nightmare for the left-wing press, who are tripping over themselves to paint the pair as BFFs while simultaneously feigning shock and contempt at any hint of geniality on the part of Trump towards the Russian oligarch.
It doesn’t need to be consistent, just sensationalistic, for the American press to hammer it on home.
So they have, naturally, brought on a slew of analysts and experts on their respective networks to discuss at length just how terrible and also what a sold-out traitor Trump is (there were, unsurprisingly, crickets when Obama repeatedly sucked up to Putin), although, if he were being tougher on Putin, they’d naturally be clutching their pearls at what a brute he was.
There is simply no way for Trump to win, is there?
Sometimes it seems like the entire media complex and a good portion of the Washington establishment is against him, hence the term “deep state”, which Peter Strzok put on full display during his testimony last week.
This is, according to one CNN analyist, exactly what we need to “stand up to Trump,” however, and he seems unaware that the right has been claiming such a movement already exists in Washington for the better part of Trump’s time in office.
The Daily Wire reports:
CNN’s Anderson declared Trump’s performance at Helsinki “perhaps one of the most disgraceful performances by an American president at a summit in front of a Russian leader certainly that I’ve ever seen.”
CNN analyst Philip Mudd agreed. “My question would be when do member of the President’s inner circle start to say, ‘Look, we have an overseas dilemma where you are portraying, in terms of the American government, as worse than a tyrant, that is Vladimir Putin.'”
Mudd continued: “The Secretary of Homeland Security came out with statements this week about continued Russian interference. This was not on Obama’s watch, that’s this week. FBI Director continues the investigation. Department of Justice continues support for the investigation. Congress continues saying that this investigation is legitimate.”
Then Mudd made the surprising call for a “shadow government” to stop Trump.
Advertisement - story continues below“Curious point in American government,” Mudd said. “When do we see almost a shadow government come out and say, ‘We cannot side with the government, whether its cabinet or the Senate.’ I think that’s the big question.”
Um…”shadow government” sounds even more nefarious than “deep state”, did he honestly just call for a legit coup within the American government?
This is how regimes are toppled. Does the left really want to play that game?
