WATCH: Flashback to Clarence Thomas’ Powerful Response to Allegations of Sexual Misconduct During His SCOTUS Confirmation Hearings

The eyes of the world, and by that I mean the giddy leftist media, have been fixed on Christine Ford, Brett Kavanaugh, and the circus that is Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings.

In case you’ve been under a rock, here’s what’s going on: Christine Ford brought forward allegations that Kavanaugh drunkenly held her down and groped her at a house party when they were both teenagers before Kavanaugh was even nominated, but Democrats waited until the eleventh hour of Kavanaugh’s confirmation to say anything.

It has had what could no doubt have been the intended effect from the party who vehemently opposed Kavanaugh before they even knew who he was.

The hearing has screeched to a halt.

We’ve seen this all before, of course…when another Republican president nominated another conservative justice: Clarence Thomas.

During Thomas’ hearings, he was accused of sexual misconduct as well. Thomas was given an opportunity to respond to the allegations brought forward by Anita Hill.

The comments he made were impactful and sobering, and I wish they could be played on every cable news channel on loop until sanity is restored to the confirmation process:

Senator, I would like to start by saying unequivocally, uncategorically, that I deny each and every single allegation against me today that suggested in any way that I had conversations of a sexual nature or about pornographic material with Anita Hill, that I ever attempted to date her, that I ever had any personal sexual interest in her, or that I in any way ever harassed her.

A second, and I think more important point. I think that this today is a travesty. I think that it is disgusting. I think that this hearing should never occur in America. This is a case in which this sleaze, this dirt, was searched for by staffers of members of this committee, was then leaked to the media, and this committee and this body validated it and displayed it at prime time over our entire nation. How would any member on this committee, any person in this room, or any person in this country, would like sleaze said about him or her in this fashion? Or this dirt dredged up and this gossip and these lies displayed in this manner? How would any person like it?

The Supreme Court is not worth it. No job is worth it. I am not here for that. I am here for my name, my family, my life, and my integrity. I think something is dreadfully wrong with this country when any person, any person in this free country would be subjected to this.

This is not a closed room. There was an FBI investigation. This is not an opportunity to talk about difficult matters privately or in a closed environment. This is a circus. It’s a national disgrace.

And from my standpoint as a black American, as far as I’m concerned, it is a high-tech lynching for uppity blacks who in any way deign to think for themselves, to do for themselves, to have different ideas, and it is a message that unless you kowtow to an old order, this is what will happen to you. You will be lynched, destroyed, caricatured by a committee of the U.S. — U.S. Senate, rather than hung from a tree.

US Women’s Soccer Team Skips Representing U.S.A. at Opening Ceremony

The ultra-woke U.S. women’s soccer team — big losers thus far — decided to skip representing the U.S.A. during the Olympics opening ceremonies.

The ultra-woke U.S. women’s soccer team — big losers thus far — decided to skip representing the U.S.A. during the opening ceremonies at the Tokyo Olympics Friday. The famously anti-American soccer team claimed that they could not attend because they were scheduled to attend practice during the opening event, according to WXIA-TV. “Obviously we can’t be there, I don’t know who scheduled us to practice at this time,” chief anti-American team star Megan Rapinoe told the media. The women’s soccer team was all about protesting against the U.S.A. during its first Olympics game this week but lost to New Zealand in a crushing 3-0 final. Rapinoe added that this year’s gams are different than past games. “It looks quite different and feels quite different than in the past, but all of us are thrilled to be here,” she said. Team members Abby Dahlkemper and Rapinoe enacted a lame “private parade” and posted it to Twitter: https://twitter.com/USWNT/status/1418557013739536390 The America-hating women’s soccer team was not the only American team that skipped the opening ceremonies. Both the women’s and the men’s U.S. gymnastics teams also skipped the ceremonies. They similarly held their own version of the parade” https://twitter.com/InsideGym/status/1418539840564572160 Follow Warner Todd Huston on Facebook at: facebook.com/Warner.Todd.Huston.

Kid Suicides, Mental Health Hospitalizations Surge Worse than Coronavirus During Lockdowns

Kids have had it particularly bad during the coronavirus lockdowns, but not because of the virus, because of the lockdowns.

New research has found that kids have had it particularly bad during the coronavirus lockdowns, but not because of the virus, because of the lockdowns themselves. Kids ended up dying of suicides and being hospitalized for mental health illnesses at a high rate, according to a new study. Once again, we see that this “cure” was far worse than virus ever was, especially for young people. Per Just the News: Jeanne Noble, director of COVID response in the UCSF emergency department, is finishing an academic manuscript on the mental health toll on kids from lockdown policies. She shared a presentation on its major points with Just the News. Suicides in the Golden State last year jumped by 24% for Californians under 18 but fell by 11% for adults, showing how children were uniquely affected by “profound social isolation and loss of essential social supports traditionally provided by in-person school,” the presentation says. Children requiring emergency mental health services jumped last year in Children’s Hospital of Oakland, and children’s hospitalizations for eating disorders more than doubled at UCSF Children’s Hospital. In January, the latter’s emergency department (ED) at Mission Bay hit a record for “highest proportion of suicidal children in ER” at 21%. The study authors charged that the CDC is bringing serious harm to children with its coronavirus policies. Just the News added that kids are facing more than the virus. They are also facing an “atrophy” of the interpersonal skills because of masks and lost school time, and they are suffering great bouts of depression. It is even harder on teens, especially those close to graduation, because they face a stymied start to college, or their careers. This also brings severe depression.
