WATCH: Rookie MLB Player Repays Parents for Their Years of Support in Amazing Way
Every parent’s dream is to raise a child who goes on to be happy, healthy, and successful in life. We don’t all raise astronauts or neurosurgeons, but raising a kid with good character makes a parent proud.
I can only imagine what kind of parents MLB draft pick Brady Singer has after the incredible way he decided to pay back all their years of dedication.
According to the Kansas City Star, Singer is a player who was “special from the beginning”, his high school coach said.
Singer surely did his parents proud when his “fiery attitude” and unbelievable pitching stats led him to become the newest addition to the Kansas City Royals, and he hasn’t forgotten the love and support that got him there.
In an Instagram video posted earlier in the week, Singer let his fans catch the jaw-dropping Christmas gift he gave to his parents.
“Dear, Mom and Dad,” says Singers mom, reading a letter from her son, “I just want to say thank you for everything you’ve done to help me reach my dreams, from Woodley Field to Kaufman Stadium.”
“There’s absolutely no way I could have done all of this by myself,” his letter continues. “Both of you constantly took off of work and spent every dime you made just to put a smile on my face.”
“The money you both spent on traveling, hotels, food, gear, and all the Gatorades I drank is much more than I could ever give you,” his mom read with a chuckle, before coming to the line of his letter that gave away the surprise.
Singer’s mom, in stunned silence, stops reading aloud, gasps, and looks over to her husband with tears in her eyes.
As she joyfully begins reading again, Singer’s mother reveals that he paid off all of his parent’s loans and debts they’d incurred while fostering his dreams of pro baseball.
“Now, instead of trying to save money every weekend to replace the savings account you drained traveling to see me play baseball, you can spend it on yourselves, because you both deserve the best.”
“None of this would be possible without you,” Singer’s sweet letter concluded. “Your giving hearts helped to shape my tiny dream into a reality. I love you both more than you could ever imagine.”
While there’s no doubt by the looks on their faces that this gift is immensely appreciated, something tells me the joy of knowing they raised such a fine young man is repayment enough for the Singer family.
