Which Part of America Has The Highest Concentration of Psychopaths? The Answer is Hilarious
If you’ve been around the block a bit — politically speaking — then you’ve likely heard Washington, D.C. and the federal government referred to as a breeding ground for all sorts of psychopaths.
Well, according to a new study, there’s actually a whole lot of truth to that statement.
That’s right, folks. Washington has the highest concentration of psychopaths in the United States. It all makes sense now, doesn’t it?
A report conducted by Ryan Murphy at Southern Methodist University found that Connecticut contained the most psychopaths per capita followed quickly by California. New Jersey and New York followed next. But our nation’s capital by far had the highest level of psychopathic behavior than anywhere in the country.
As Newsmax notes, “Added in the study was Washington, D.C., which ‘had a psychopathy level far higher’ than any state, according to the report – albeit because it is a small, entirely urban area and not as geographically diverse as a state. “The presence of psychopaths in District of Columbia is consistent with the conjecture found in Murphy [2016] that psychopaths are likely to be effective in the political sphere,” Murphy concluded in his study. (emphasis added)
Murphy analyzed “levels of big five personality traits (extroversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness to experience) in each state,” to carry out his research.
Turns out our nation’s capital attracts these kind of characters in a major way.

Not shocking at all to see the entertainment industry is chock full of psychopaths. That’s a fact that seems relatively self-evident, same with politics.
However, it’s a little scary to think of these sort of individuals as being the folks who are calling the shots for the future of our nation. Long gone are the good old days of men like George Washington taking political office out of a sense of duty to God and fellow men.
Maybe one day politicians will be less psycho and more men of character and integrity. We can always hope and pray, right?
