It didn’t take long for staff inside the White House to realize what sort of predicament they were in with Joe Biden running the show, and a steady stream of departures, resignations, and abandonments have plagued the administration ever since.
Biden himself has lost a number of high level staffers, with even more having bolted from VP Kamala Harris’ East Wing amid reports that Madame Vice President is a bit of a bully.
Now the First Lady’s office is losing a key member of the press staff, and just days after a highly embarrassing and tone-deaf flub by Dr. Jill Biden.
First Lady Jill Biden’s press secretary Michael LaRosa is leaving the White House, according to a report from CNN.
“For nearly three years, from the campaign to the White House, Michael has brought an encyclopedic knowledge of politics and media to my team as my spokesperson and adviser,” the first lady told CNN.Trending:
“On a small team, loyalty and friendship are lifelong – we will miss Michael. However, we are excited for him to begin a new chapter in his career.”
LaRosa, who typically focuses on simple issues like updates on the first lady’s new cat, reportedly made plans to leave earlier but stayed on to assist during Jill Biden’s international travel.Advertisement - story continues below
Dr. Biden had recently run into some serious PR trouble.
The news breaks after the first lady experienced a series of embarrassing incidents in her official position.
On July 12, LaRosa had to apologize for the first lady’s embarrassing speech to the Latino community, after she compared them to breakfast tacos.
LaRosa is just the latest in a long line of departures, all of which have occurred within just the first year-and-a-half of Biden’s first term.
